ekm Inspirations


Norine Dagliano, a certified professional rsum writer and owner of ekm Inspirations, recently received notice that samples of her work will be published in the book "Best Resumes for College Graduates to Land $75,000 Jobs" by Wendy Enelow and Louise Kursmark.

The book is scheduled for release in November. It will be the eighth professional job-search book that will publish samples of Dagliano's work.




Valpak of Cumberland Valley


Cindy Jackson recently joined the staff of Valpak of Cumberland Valley as business development director.

Jackson was employed by the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development in Baltimore. She also has worked in Washington, D.C., and the Czech Republic.

Jackson is a graduate of Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pa. She is pursuing an MBA at Frostburg University's Hagerstown campus.




Dr. Charles Supernavage


April Evans of the office of Dr. Charles Supernavage recently was recognized as a 10-year member of the Professional Association of Health Care Office Managers.

Evans has been active in the association's Antietam Chapter for the past 10 years, serving as president, president-elect and treasurer. She also has served on the National Awards Committee.

Evans has been employed by Supernavage for 12 years.




Partners in Pediatrics


Dr. Bruce E. Weneck, a board-certified pediatrician with Partners in Pediatrics, recently attended a meeting titled "Insight & Perspectives in the Management of Attention Deficit Disorder & Hyperactivity" in Charleston, S.C.

The subjects of the meeting were "Adolescent ADHD" and "Safety & Efficacy of Medication in Teens."

Sean Harr, a correctional dietary officer at the Maryland Correctional Training Center, was selected as the center's Employee of the Month for July.




Roxbury Correctional Institution


Earl Clark, a correctional officer at the Roxbury Correctional Institution, was selected as the center's Employee of the Month for August.

Shepherd University


SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Kimberly Scranage recently was appointed director of admissions at Shepherd University.

Scranage most recently served as director of admissions and records at the University of Charleston (W.Va.). While there, she also taught, had institutional research and marketing responsibilities and served as a Datatel consultant.

Scranage holds an associate's degree in respiratory care, a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in strategic leadership.

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Dr. May T. Cao of Cao Family Chiropractic recently attended a four-day continuing education course at Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic in Spartanburg, S.C.

Courses included "Neurology - The Science Behind the Subluxation," "Logan Basic Technique," "Activator Research" and "Basic Scan Products."

Cao has been in practice in Waynesboro since 1999.

GREENCASTLE, Pa. -Peggy Hays and Mike Decker of Jack Gaughen Realtor ERA's Greencastle office recently were named the office's Agents of the Month for June.

Hays was recognized in the three years and over category, while Decker was recognized in the three years and under category.

Also, three agents in the Greencastle office were recognized for their sales performance.

- Sharon Gunder and Karen Starr were recognized for closing more than $3 million.

- Robin Wakefield was recognized for closing more than $1 million.




Frederick Memorial Healthcare System


FREDERICK, Md. - James K. Kluttz, president and CEO of the Frederick Memorial Healthcare System, recently received the Distinguished Service Award from the Maryland Hospital Association.

The award is given to hospital leaders who are committed to the cause of bettering health-care delivery and who have dedicated voluntary time to state and local health-care issues.




Shenandoah University


WINCHESTER, Va. - W. Randy Boxx recently was hired as dean of the Harry F. Byrd Jr. School of Business at Shenandoah University.

Prior to coming to Shenandoah, Boxx was the dean of the Else School of Management at Millsaps College in Jackson, Miss. He also served as dean of the School of Business Administration at the University of Mississippi.

Boxx holds bachelor's and master's degrees in management from the University of Southern Mississippi and a doctorate in business administration and management from the University of Arkansas.
