Three charged in Pa. stabbing

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A borough man and two teenagers have been charged with stabbing another during a fight Sunday night in the 200 block of Larch Avenue, according to Chambersburg police.

Ryan McClure, 18, address unavailable, of Chambersburg, was charged with first-degree felony aggravated assault and first-degree criminal conspiracy, according to Detective Sgt. Dianne Kelso. Two 17-year-old boys were charged as juveniles with the same offenses, Kelso said.

Jose Martinez, 18, of Chambersburg, was stabbed twice in the abdomen in the 11:16 p.m. assault. Kelso said he was taken to Chambersburg Hospital and then flown to York (Pa.) Hospital, but recovered sufficiently from his wounds to be released Tuesday.

Kelso said police received a 911 call that four or five males were seen beating up another man.

"By the time we got there, all the suspects had fled the area," she said.

Martinez was found about a block away from where he was stabbed, Kelso said.

Information from witnesses at the scene helped lead police to the suspects, Kelso said.

Kelso did not indicate which, or if, any of the three arrested so far stabbed Martinez. The investigation was ongoing, she said.

The assault may have been a continuation of an altercation that occurred earlier Sunday, Kelso said.

McClure was arraigned before District Justice Larry Pentz on the charges, Kelso said. He remained in Franklin County Prison Tuesday on $50,000 bond, according to a prison official.

Both of the juveniles were in Franklin County Court for detention hearings Tuesday, according to Kelso.
