W.Va. man pleads guilty to child pornography charge

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A 59-year-old Shepherdstown, W.Va., man entered a guilty plea on Wednesday in U.S. District Court on a child pornography charge, according to a news release from U.S. Attorney Thomas E. Johnston.

Richard B. Hoffman, 59, of German Street, pleaded guilty to one count charging him with possession of child pornography.

Hoffman, who is free on bond, faces a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a fine of $250,000, the release said.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul T. Camilletti and was investigated by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, the release said.
