Sally L. Stephen, 70

APRIL 11, 1934-JULY 25, 2004

Sally Lou Stephen, 70, of 14308 Daley Road, Hagerstown, died Sunday, July 25, 2004, at Avalon Manor Nursing Home.

Born April 11, 1934, in Morristown, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Robert Kemp and Carrie Padden Kemp.

She was a 1952 graduate of Belmont (Ohio) High School.

She was a member of Broadfording Church of the Brethren Fellowship.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Rolland C. Stephen; two daughters, Tamara Poper of Greencastle, Pa., and Debra High of Hagerstown; two sons, Terry Stephen and Rolland Stephen Jr., both of Hagerstown; one sister, June Millard of Gerald, Mo.; one brother, Robert Kemp of Louisville, Ohio; and three grandsons.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Alice K. Wehr.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, Hagerstown. Pastors Harry Strite and Leon Yoder will officiate. Burial will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.


The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Raymond Lee Bowman, 52

JAN. 15, 1952-JULY 25, 2004

YORK, Pa. - Raymond Lee Bowman, 52, of York, died Sunday, July 25, 2004, at his home.

Born Jan. 15, 1952, in York, he was the son of the late Melvin J. and Mae Strickhouser Boyer Bowman.

He is survived by one sister, the Rev. Jacqueline Bowman Miller of Hagerstown; one brother, Leroy M. Bowman of Arizona; eight nieces and nephews; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; and aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Amber M. Livingston.

A celebration of life service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at John H. Danner Funeral Home, York. The Rev. Jacqueline Miller will officiate. Burial will follow at Mount Rose Cemetery, York.

Viewing will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to White Rose Hospice, 2870 Eastern Blvd., York, PA 17402.

Joseph F. Denniston III

JUNE 15, 1923-JULY 24, 2004

Joseph F. Denniston III passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2004.

He was born on June 15, 1923, in Hagerstown, Md., to Joseph and Helen Denniston.

He served his country in the Army during WWII and again during the Korean War.

While in WWII, he fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.

He received his bachelor of arts degree from the University of Maryland.

He married Margaret Ann Webb on June 26, 1948. Joe started his family in Maryland and later moved to Texas. He was a devoted husband and father, and was also an active volunteer in church and civic life.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Ann.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Ann Webb Denniston; three sons, Denny, Webb and David and his wife, Maribeth; five grandchildren, Christopher Denniston and wife, Laura, Jodie Humphries and husband, Kirk, Jennifer Fikes and husband, Joel, Jay Denniston and Daniel Denniston; two great-grandchildren, Samantha and Gus; and extended family members Julie, Ginger, Jeannette, Diana and Allyne.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd with the Rev. G. David Fikes officiating. Interment will follow at Austin Memorial Park.

Terry R. Klahre Sr., 62

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Terry Roger Klahre Sr., 62, of Martinsburg, died Friday, July 23, 2004, at City Hospital.

Born Oct. 29, 1941, in Ellerslie, Md., he was the son of the late Robert and Lettie Virginia Connor Klahre.

He served in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by one daughter, Pamela Hannon of Savannah, Ga.; and three sons, Anthony Klahre of Winchester, Va., and Terry Klahre Jr. and Michael W. Klahre, both of Martinsburg.

Services and burial will be private.

Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.

Jack R. Henneberger, 87

AUG. 14, 1916-JULY 24, 2004

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Jack R. Henneberger, 87, a resident of ManorCare Health Services, died Saturday, July 24, 2004, at the nursing home.

Born Aug. 14, 1916, in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Harry R. and Elizabeth Geiman Henneberger.

His wife, Isabelle E. Poper Henneberger, died in 1972. They were married Aug. 5, 1937.

He was a member of Bethel Assembly of God in Chambersburg.

He is survived by five children, Kenneth Henneberger of Hamilton, Bermuda, Minerva Auman of Fort Myers, Fla., Jean Christman of Greencastle, Pa., Marion Endicott of Selah, Wash., and Roger Henneberger of Chambersburg; one brother, Harold R. Henneberger of Tampa, Fla.; 20 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.

Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens.

A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service.
