Computer classes

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Berkeley Senior Services will offer computer classes to adults of all ages beginning the week of Monday, Sept. 13.

  • Word 2000 XP, Mondays, 9 a.m. to noon, five weeks. Students should own a PC for these classes.

  • Basic Beginner, Mondays, 1 to 4 p.m., five weeks; Wednesdays, 9 a.m. to noon, five weeks.

  • Intermediate classes, Tuesdays, 9 a.m. to noon, five weeks.

  • Internet classes, Wednesdays, 1 to 4 p.m., three weeks.

  • Adobe Photoshop Elements, Thursdays, 10 a.m. to noon.

  • Adobe Photoshop Elements level two, Thursdays, 1 to 3:30 p.m.

Karate ministry

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Taught by Pastor Ken Fizer, a third-degree black belt. Students may join the class at any time. 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. Otterbein United Methodist Church, 549 N. Queen St. $10 per month. Child care is provided. Call 1-304-263-0342.


Young artists' workshop

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - These Monday-through-Friday workshops will introduce young people to a variety of art media, including drawing, painting, printmaking, kite making and poetry. All classes are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.

  • Aug. 2 through 6 - ages 8 to 13.

  • Aug. 9 through 13 - ages 5 to 7.

Summer art school schedule

Washington County Museum of Fine Arts announces its summer art school schedule for adults and children.

  • Exploring Sculpture, taught by Amy Blank, noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, through Friday, Aug. 6. $60; $55 for museum members.

  • Op Art, taught by Chris Copley, ages 9 to 14, 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturdays, Aug. 14, to Aug. 28. $50; $45 for members.
