Clarence W. Kint Sr., 80

SEPT. 19, 1923-JULY 18, 2004

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Clarence W. "Buck" Kint Sr., 80, of 13085 Pennersville Road, died Sunday, July 18, 2004, at Waynesboro Hospital.

Born Sept. 19, 1923, in Pennersville, Pa., he was the son of the late Norman G. and Margaret Hardman Kint.

He attended Monterey School and Washington Township High School.

He retired after more than 28 years as a mechanic for ISP Mineral Products, Blue Ridge Summit, Pa.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a member of Blue Ridge Sportsmen's Association and Fairfield (Pa.) Amvets Post 172.

He played golf in the ISP Co. League for more than 25 years.

He is survived by his wife of more than 56 years, Catherine L. Naugle Kint; three daughters, Carolyn E. Williams and Michelle M. Kint, both of Waynesboro, and Deborah A. Starliper of Cascade; five sons, Clarence W. Kint Jr. and Terry L. Kint, both of Rouzerville, Pa., Robert E. Kint of Fairfield, John A. Kint of Cascade and Travis L. Kint, at home; three sisters, Betty Nicholas of Blue Ridge Summit, June O. Mumma of Waynesboro and Helen Stottlemyer of Manchester, Tenn.; one brother, Robert R. Kint of Waynesboro; 19 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one stepgrandson; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by two brothers, Norman Kint and Cletus Kint; one granddaughter; and one great-granddaughter.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro. Pastor Eugene M. Cline will officiate. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

Sonja E. Timmons, 63

OCT. 27, 1940-JULY 19, 2004

Sonja E. Betts "Cookie" Timmons, 63, of Hunter Hill Drive, Hagerstown, died Monday, July 19, 2004, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Oct. 27, 1940, in Pectonville, Md., she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Gertrude Pierce Betts.

She was employed by Park-n-Dine Restaurant until 1997.

She was of the Methodist faith.

She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Stotler of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., and Dawn Rebele of Hagerstown; five sons, Lloyd Timmons Jr. and Fabian Timmons, both of Berkeley Springs, Brian Timmons of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Craig Timmons and Dean Timmons, both of Hagerstown; five sisters, Freda Golden of Waynesboro, Pa., Dolores Gladhill of Indian Springs, Md., Sandra McFadden of Hancock, Ben Murray of Clear Spring and Joann Betts of Hagerstown; three brothers, Bobbie Betts and Daryll Betts, both of Martinsburg, and Ricky Betts of Funkstown; 18 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Tom Pierce.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Parkhead United Methodist Church. The Rev. Scott D. Shumaker will officiate. Burial will be in Parkhead Cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, Hancock, and Wednesday one hour prior to the services at the church.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to Hospice Through Washington County Hospital, 251 E. Antietam Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21740.

Treva I. Hane, 72

APRIL 1, 1932-JULY 18, 2004

FREDERICK, Md. - Mrs. Treva I. Hane, 72, of Frederick, formerly of Myersville, died Sunday, July 18, 2004, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

She was the wife of John Hane.

Born April 1, 1932, in Boonsboro, Md., she was the daughter of the late Richard and Ethel Moser Renner.

Mrs. Hane was a member of the United Methodist Church of Myersville and was a graduate of Strayer Business College.

In earlier years she was owner and operator of Myersville Market and T&J Laundromat and later, until her death, was employed for more than 30 years at Brown's Liquor Store.

She enjoyed crafts, baseball, football, was an avid bowler and at one time was ranked No. 3 in Tri-County Bowlers. She also enjoyed traveling, entertaining and playing cards.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Sharll Hane of Frederick, Tina Miller and husband, Lynn, of Hampstead, and Aaron Hane of North Wilkesboro, N.C.; seven grandchildren, Cynthia Sanders, Pamelyn Yarian, Nathan Miller, Timothy Miller, Aaron John Hane, Adam Thomas Hane and Brian Pratt. Numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. She will also be remembered by her many friends.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Rosalie Brown.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, this evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, July 21, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 22, at 10 a.m.

Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Richard B. Walter, 83

HANOVER, Pa. - Richard B. Walter, 83, of Hanover, died Saturday, July 17, 2004, at York (Pa.) Hospital.

Born June 17, 1921, in Hanover, he was the son of the late Harry C.F. and Pauline Barnes Walter.
