Work to be done on West Antietam Street

Traffic lanes will be closed on West Antietam Street between Summit Avenue and Walnut Street starting Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

A work crew will install a manhole on the south side of West Antietam Street on the sidewalk area. Contractor Henkels & McCoy Inc. will allow local traffic and emergency vehicles through the work area. However, access occasionally may be denied to all vehicles.

Depending on the progress, street lane closures may resume on Tuesday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. in the same area.

In the West End, crews will continue to work on the south side of West Washington Street near Mont Valla Avenue. No parking signs will be posted in work zone areas.

Repair work to begin on Williamsport bridge

WILLIAMSPORT - The Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historical Park will begin repairs to the Salisbury Street Bridge in Williamsport on Wednesday.

The repairs will require intermittent closing of the bridge to vehicular traffic on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. The closures will be limited to 15-minute durations. The repairs should take approximately one week to complete.

The canal will remain open and the bridge work will not cause detours on the towpath.
