Vivian M. Ridenour, 82

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Vivian M. Ridenour, 82, of Martinsburg, died Friday, July 9, 2004, at her home.

Born Nov. 30, 1921, in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late John Wesley Kearns and Frances Louise Edmonds Kearns.

She was a 1939 graduate of Martinsburg High School.

She was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, where she was a member of Loyalty Friendship Class and taught the children's class.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Walter B. Ridenour; one daughter, Anita Cooper of Martinsburg; and two sisters, Marie Albright and Pearl E. Everhart, both of Hagerstown.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Jean Unger.

Services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. Pastor Mason Cooper, the Rev. Ken Fizer and Larry Cooper will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Michael D. Jones, 39


JUNE 13, 1965-JULY 7, 2004

Michael David "D.J. Tazz" Jones, 39, of 15643 Deer Lodge Circle in Hagerstown, died Wednesday, July 7, 2004, at his home.

Born June 13, 1965, in Hanover, Pa., he was the son of John G. Edwin Jones of Hanover and the late Elizabeth Linda Dickerson Jones Adam.

He attended North Hagerstown High School.

He was employed by Super 8 Motel and as a DJ at Maverick's Nite Club in Martinsburg, W.Va.

He was a member of First Brethren Church.

He is survived by four daughters, Nicole Jones, Jessica Jones, Danielle Fellows and Krystal Kennedy, all of Hagerstown; one son, Michael David Jones of Romney, W.Va.; one sister, Leann Crouthanel of Spring Grove, Pa.; three brothers, George Jones of Littleton, Pa., David Jones of Hampstead, Md., and Sean Jones of Colorado Springs, Colo.; paternal grandmother, Roma C. Jones of Hagerstown; and his companion, Kelly R. Kennedy.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, Hagerstown. The Rev. Larry A. Westcott will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday one hour prior to services at the funeral home.




James E. Kenworthy, 70

James E. Kenworthy, 70, of 531 W. Howard St. in Hagerstown, died Friday, July 9, 2004, at his home.

Born Dec. 16, 1933, in Axtell, Kan., he was the son of the late John Kenneth and Edna Reva Kirk Kenworthy.

He had been employed by Mattress Warehouse in Bethesda, Md., and Hagerstown, retiring in 1993.

He was a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America, Blue and Gray Model T Club and Tri-Valley LCCI.

He is survived by one brother, Norman Kenworthy of Topeka, Kan.; and three nieces.

Services will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Bast Funeral Home, Boonsboro. Burial will be in Boonsboro Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.




Eloise C. Keddington, 68


NOV. 7, 1935-JULY 8, 2004

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Eloise Cedella "Ellie" Keddington, 68, of Berkeley Springs, died Thursday, July 8, 2004, at Continuum Care at Sykesville (Md.).

Born Nov. 7, 1935, in Berkeley Springs, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Margaret Everett Gray.

She attended Berkeley Springs High School.

She retired from Tom Seely Furniture, where she worked as a finisher.

She was a Protestant.

She was a member of Kat & Rosie's, Ladies Auxiliary of Alderton-Dawson American Legion Post 60, Ladies Auxiliary of Risinger-Stotler VFW Post 4019, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 4244 and Ladies of the Moose Chapter 1311, all of Berkeley Springs.

She is survived by three sons, Paul D. Keddington Jr. of Great Cacapon, W.Va., and Shawn G. Keddington and Wesley E. Keddington, both of Berkeley Springs; four grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Junior Gray and Harry Gray.

Services will be Monday at 6 p.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, Berkeley Springs. Pastors Jack and Shirley Hiles will officiate.

Burial will be private.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will open at 10 a.m.




Alvin R. Seal Jr., 47


JAN. 21, 1957-JULY 6, 2004

WINCHESTER, Va. - Alvin R. "Bub" Seal Jr., 47, of Sunshine Drive, died Tuesday, July 6, 2004, at Winchester Medical Center.

Born Jan. 21, 1957, in Hagerstown, he was the son of Gladys Mort Seal of Waynesboro, Pa., and the late Alvin Roy Seal Sr.

He was a self-employed sound technician for various bands.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Sydney Orndorff Seal, whom he married March 16, 1991; one daughter, Holly L. Seal at home; and one sister, Debra Seal-Shaw of Hagerstown.

Graveside services were held Friday at 11 a.m. at Gravel Springs Lutheran Cemetery, Star Tannery, Va. The Rev. William N. Wade will officiate.

The family received friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home, Winchester.
