Robert F. Lowe, 82

FAIRFIELD, Pa. - Robert F. Lowe, 82, of 663 Old Waynesboro Road, died Wednesday, July 7, 2004, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born Jan. 11, 1922, in Altoona, Pa., he was the son of the late Nellie Lowe Rambeau and Dennis Rambeau, his stepfather.

He attended school in Spruce Creek, Pa.

He was a self-employed carpenter who helped build Camp Wohelo and Camp Comet, both in Waynesboro, Pa. He retired in 1977.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart.

He attended Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Fairfield.

He had been a member of Blue Ridge Sportsman Association.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Pauline R. Miller Lowe; two daughters, Linda K. Watson and Ruth A. Watson, both of Blue Ridge Summit, Pa.; two sons, Robert W. Lowe of Fairfield and Ronald L. Lowe of Waynesboro; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home in Waynesboro. Pastor Matthew Meisenhelter will officiate. Burial will be in Fountaindale Union Cemetery, Liberty Township, Pa.

The family will receive friends Friday at the funeral home at 12:30 p.m. There will be no public viewing.

Helen R. Corderman, 97

Helen Ruth Corderman, 97, of Hagerstown, died Monday, July 5, 2004, at Broadmore Assisted Living.

Born Dec. 15, 1906, in Mercersburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Clarence E. and Irene L. Bricker Kershner.

Her husband, Ernest W. Corderman, preceded her in death.

She was co-owner of Sanitary Grocery on West Howard Street in Hagerstown.

She was a member of Calvary Grace Brethren Church in Hagerstown.

She is survived by one sister, Catherine M. Shook of Hagerstown and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by four sisters, Beulah Zelene Kershner, Frances Louise Kershner, Evelyn B. Corbett and Nancy Viola Fisher; and four brothers, Paul Bricker Kershner, Wayne Jacob Kershner, R. Luther Kershner and H. Eugene Kershner.

Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, Hagerstown. The Rev. Douglas A. Courter will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




Betty J. Bonebrake, 58


JAN. 27, 1946-JULY 7, 2004

GREENCASTLE, PA. - Betty Jean Keller Bonebrake, 58, of 1440 Shanks Church Road, died Wednesday, July 7, 2004, at her home.

Born Jan. 27, 1946, in Chambersburg, Pa., she was the daughter of Anna Mentzer Keller and the late J.J. Keller.

She attended Waynesboro (Pa.) area schools.

She was a hostess for H&S Candle Parties.

She was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Hagerstown.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Richard D. "Dick" Bonebrake, whom she married May 10, 1974; one sister, Brenda F. Fleagle of Waynesboro; two brothers, John A. Keller and Roy L. Keller, both of Waynesboro; aunts; uncles; nieces; and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Hagerstown. The Rev. Thomas T. Polk will be celebrant.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home in Greencastle and at the church Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. A wake service will be Friday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mary L. Johnson, 81

FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Mary Louise Johnson, 81, of 37 Forest Ave., died Tuesday July 6, 2004, at her home.

Born Sept. 13, 1922, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Sarah Jane Black Shaffer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward F. Johnson, in 2002.

She retired from Chambersburg Hospital, where she had worked in the housekeeping department.

She is survived by two brothers, John W. Shaffer and Thomas J. Shaffer, both of Chambersburg and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Joan Ott Miller.

Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home in Chambersburg. The Rev. Marlin E. Ebersole will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery in Quincy, Pa.

Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.




Sandra K. Beach, 55


FEB. 23, 1949-JULY 7, 2004

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Sandra Kay Beach, 55, of 104 W. Wood St., and formerly of Woodbury, Pa., died Wednesday, July 7, 2004, at Fulton County Medical Center in McConnellsburg.

Born Feb. 23, 1949, in Roaring Spring, Pa., she was the daughter of James C. and Evelyn Kensinger Beach of Woodbury, Pa.

She was a 1967 graduate of Northern Bedford County (Pa.) school district and a 1971 graduate of Juniata College.
