Tickets available for Bush's Pa. visit

July 07, 2004

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - More than 200 tickets were available Tuesday afternoon at Franklin County Republican Headquarters for a campaign stop by President Bush in York, Pa., on Friday.

"We probably have 250 out of an allotment of 332," county Republican Chairman Roger Beckner said Tuesday afternoon. Bush will be appearing in Toyota Arena at the York Expo Center, he said.

Tickets are limited to two per person and are being given away on a first-come, first-serve basis, Beckner said. The headquarters are at 293 Southgate Mall. Headquarters are open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. or until the tickets are gone, Thomas said.

Those wanting tickets must pre-register and provide their names, addresses, dates of birth and Social Security numbers. An individual registering two people must provide the same information for the other person planning to attend, according to a press release from the Franklin for Bush Re-election Committee.

To be present for the campaign stop, a ticket is required, along with a valid photo identification, the release stated.

Admission to Toyota Arena will be from 3:15 to 5 p.m. only, according to Franklin County Commissioner Bob Thomas.

"That's herding a lot of people through metal detectors in a short period of time," he said.

Tickets for the event also were being distributed in the Pennsylvania cities of Carlisle, Lancaster, Harrisburg and York, Thomas said.
