District I 9-10 Tournament

Jordan Palladino had four hits, Zachary Lucas and Zack Shank had three hits each and Wesley Everett, Hunter Eyler and Tyler Byers all added two for Conococheague as it posted a 20-8 win over PVAA in the Maryland District 1 9-10 Little League Tournament on Wednesday. Aaron Leasure had three hits while Travis Miller, Ryan Keefer and Steven Bonnett had two each for PVAA.

Federal 8, Valley 7: Kris Burdick had three hits while Alijah Benson had two hits as Federal stayed alive in the losers' bracket. Austin Knode, Nick Martin, Robbie Hogue, Charlie Williams and Matt Stevens each had two hits for Valley.

District 1 Senior League

Maugansville 5, Valley 1: Mike Twigg had three hits while Matt Campbell, Fred Kreiger, Brett Bloom and Tyler Braithwaite each had two for Maugansville. Mike Edwards had two hits for Valley.

Hagerstown PONY League

Firefighters 11, F&M 9: J.J. O'Neill and Patrick Phillips both homered while Chris Condon and Dwayne Washko had two hits each for Firefighters. John Mason had three hits and four RBI for F&M.


Hagerstown Floors 9, FOP 5: Steve Younker and Jacob Pendergraft had two hits each for Floors. Cody McCarthy had three hits, including a home run, for FOP.

American Little League

FOP 8, Funkstown Legion 1: Gerald Tonsil and Tyrel McKoi each had two hits, while Lewis Rudy had three hits for FOP. Billy Springirth led Funkstown with three hits.

Hagerstown Palomino

Goodwill Athletic Club 14, VFW 9: Aaron Wagner had two hits, including a grand slam, while Daniel Lynn had three hits and J.J. Myers had two for Goodwill. Joe Strong and Leo Schill had two hits each for VFW.

Goodwill Athletic Club 13, UAW 6: Patrick Hutzler and Eric McPherson each hit a grand slam, David Miner homered and Daniel Lynn had two hits for Goodwill. Matt Dixon and Wayne Rumbaugh each had two hits for UAW.

Goodwill Athletic Club 14, Valley Supply 5: Patrick Hutzler and David Miner each homered and had three hits while Daniel Lynn and Dustin Stottlemyer had two hits apiece for Goodwill. Brandon Blahut had two hits for Valley Supply.

Washington Co. Girls Softball

Sportsland 17-3, Potomac Property 5-1: Courtney Long had three hits for Sportsland while Bridgett Ringley, Katie Sirbaugh, Jetta Williams, Destinee Olden and Amanda Churchey each had two hits. Amy Freeds, Ashley Creek and Britney Lady each had two hits for Potomac in the first game. In the second game, Sirbaugh had two hits in the victory while Tara Shaffer homered for Potomac.

Aladdin Awards 7-12, Redmen 5-0: Jamie Fowler pitched a no-hitter and had 14 strikeouts in the second game for Aladdin Awards. Christina Line and Carrisa Cheney had two hits each.

Accent Imaging 17, Lightning Transport 3: Kaila Cheney had two hits for Lightning Transport.

Lightning Transport 10, Accent Imaging 1: Emma Sirface had two hits, including a home run, while Tiffany Root and Erika Mong each added two hits for Lightning Transport.


Brunswick 12, Waynesboro 2

BRUNSWICK, Md. - Roger Dawson went 3-for-4 with four RBI and Andy Maught added two hits, including a double and a two-run homer, to lead the Orioles over Waynesboro. Doug Stottlemyer got the win for Brunswick (26-2, 24-2), allowing five hits and striking out seven.


Hub City Softball

Jerry's Sports 20, Coors Light 10: Denny Talbert and Dave Foltz each had four hits, Todd Ricker had four hits, including a home run, Scott Slocum had two home runs and Sid Shupp and Steve Presgraves each had a home run for Jerry's Sports.

Colonial Sports Bar 12, Coors Light 2: Steve Alton and Jeremy Keckler each had a home run while K.C. Hutzell hit for the cycle for Colonial Sports Bar.

Thompson's Gas/Mike's Plumbing 14, Hub City Heat 10: Kevin Kretzer had four hits for Thompson's Gas/Mike's Plumbing while Joey Springer had three hits, including a home run, Jim Ezolt had three hits and Denny Wellach had a home run.

Thompson's Gas/Mike's Plumbing 15, Off the Hook 11: Scott Shank and Jim Ezolt each had four hits while Mike Repp had three hits and Dave Myers had a home run for Thompson's Gas/Mike's Plumbing.

Southern Sun Studio 15, R&M Liquors 12: Greg Dowler had four hits, including two home runs, Ryan Akers and Jake Ward each added a homer and Akers, Bobby Wilhide and Donnie Blickenstaff all had three hits for Southern Sun.

Hagerstown Church Softball

Valley 22, Grace Brethren 6: Mike Trumpower went 6-for-6, Brian Lewis went 5-for-5, and John Buchanan Jr., Matt Werry and Tim Hose each had four hits for Valley. Eric White had four hits for Grace.

Crossroads Tan 19, Lifehouse 10: Dave Davis had five hits, including a home run, and Chuck Frank added four hits for Crossroads Tan.


Williamsport 7-11, Charlestown 1-6: Matt Byers had two hits for Williamsport in the first game. Scott Keeney had three hits while Matt Fortese and Cory Itnyre each had two hits for Williamsport in the second contest.
