Bricker goes low in Tri-State Juniors

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Chad Bricker made nine birdies and shot a sensational 9-under 63 on Monday to win the 16-18 age group of the Tri-State Junior Golf Association tournament at Waynesboro Country Club.

Bricker finished nine shots ahead of reigning Pennsylvania high school champion Kevin Reiber, who shot 72. Brandon Shaeffer shot 77 for third.

Clayton Rotz won the 14-15 age group, shooting 77, while Alicia Grier finished second with an 82 and Jake Wetzel was third with an 84.

Derek Baker's round of 79 was good for first in the 12-13 age group, with Alex Hoffman finishing second with an 84 and Andrew Duff taking third with a 90.



Brunswick 15, Waynesboro 0

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Andy Maught had three hits, including two home runs, to lead Brunswick over Waynesboro.

Abe Hacen threw a three-hitter with nine strikeouts for the Orioles (21-1), while Jayson Mobley and Gerrad Talkington each had two hits.


Williamsport 11, Damascus 1: Matt Fortez had three hits while Derek Hadley, Matt Byers and Corey Itnyre each had two hits for Williamsport.


Hagerstown PONY League

F&M 6, Redmen 2: John Mason had three hits, including a home run, and Jordan Young and Jared Ferguson each had two hits for F&M. Travis Rhoton hit a two-run homer for Redmen.

Eagles 13, Hagerstown Floors 0: Kyle Hoffman and Kyle Beers each had two hits, including home runs, Brock Kettoman added three hits, Cody Nelling had two hits and Nelling and Jordan Weaver combined to throw a one-hitter for Eagles.

American Little League

FOP 8, Goodwill 4: Ahmere Ware, Quendell Censor and Scott St. Clair each had two hits for Goodwill. Gerald Tonsil and Tyrel McKoy each had two hits for F&M.

Maugansville Little League

Maugan's Oil 14, Burkholder's 4: Brandon Glazer had three hits and Mike Churchey had two hits for Maugan's Oil.

Wash. Co. Girls Softball

Redmen 12, Potomac Property Management 10: Jess Patey hit a home run and Kirsten Rinehart and Lindsay Anderson each had two hits for Redmen. Courtney Hutchinson hit a home run for Potomac, while Ashley Creek added three hits.

Aladdin Awards 19, Lightning Transport 7: Christina Line had three hits, including a home run, while Carrisa Chaney homered and Kara Williamson added two hits for Aladdin. Emma Sirface, Caroline Sirface and Lindsey Kline each had two hits for Lightning Transport.

Smithsburg Cal Ripken

Lions 21, Lewis Orchard 7: Jack Schwarts had four hits, including a home run, while Dylan Sharon had three hits and Ryan Smith and Nick Cavell each had two hits for Lions.

Hagerstown Palomino

UAW 11, Dynamark 10: Corey Weaver, Zach Lloyd and Tyler Younker each had two hits for UAW.

UAW 7, VFW 5: Zach Lloyd struck out 10 and had three hits for UAW, while Wayne Rumbaugh had two hits. R.J. Foltz and Brad Turner each had two hits for VFW.

Redmen 12, Post 202 4: Mark Rohrer had three hits for Redmen, while John Moser, Dustin Starliper and Patrick Hammond each had two hits.

Valley Little League

Dorsey Brothers 15, Total Lube Center 14: Ryan Peters had four hits for Dorsey Brothers, while Victor McCormick and Luke Toms each had three hits and Casey Ymbert had two hits. Ben Daniels, Curt Ferguson and Kasey Raios each had two hits for Total Lube.

West End Little League

Western Enterprise 4, VFW 3: David Warren threw a three-hitter with 13 strikeouts while Chaz Bachtell had two hits for Western Enterprise.

American Minor League

Goodwill AC 12, Antietam FD 2: Dylan Churchey had two hits for Goodwill.

West End Minor League

FOP 15, Western Enterprise 14: Stevie Turner had four hits, Aaron Grossman, Joel Brown and Sierra Ferguson each had three hits and Brandon MacKenzie, Corey Reesner, Isaiah Merrill, Brady Nutter and Andrew Snodderly each added two for FOP. Devin Mellott had four hits, Nicholas Holman, Corbin Rowland and Chad Bell each added three and Tyler Rousey, Chad Randall, Bryce Karn, Austin Nave and Dennis Rowe had two apiece for Western Enterprise.

Halfway Little League

Lions 16, Valley Storage Bins 7: Kyle Crist and Brennan Deener each homered, while Crist and Henry Gigeous had four hits each, Deener added three and Tyler Bikle had two for Lions. Jonathan Adams had three hits while Aaron Stotelmyer and Jared Hoover had two each for Valley.

Conococheague Little League

Wolfe's 3, Redmen 2: Bobby Ardinger, Darryl Shirley, Wesley Everett and Mark Oliver had two hits each for Wolfe's. Austin Taylor had three hits while Devin Bird, Andy Iseminger and Jordan Palladino had two hits each for Redmen.

Wolfe's 4, Byer's Market 3: Darryl Shirley, Wesley Everett and Mark Oliver had two hits for Wolfe's. Timber Jones had two hits for Byer's Market.

Conococheague Minor League

Tony's Pizza 13, M&T Bank 12: Jake Quiqley, Sterling Christy and Brooke Brechbill all added two hits for Tony's. Caleb Myers had three hits while Riley Arnone, Jack Kelley and Wyatt Scriever each had two hits for M&T Bank.
