Kelly to speak at dinner

The Hagerstown Area Church Softball League will hold its fourth annual sports dinner June 26 at 6 p.m. at Tri-State Fellowship on Cearfoss Pike in Hagerstown.The guest speaker will be former Major League Baseball player Pat Kelly, founder of Life Line Ministries in Ellicott City, Md.

Kelly played 13 years in the major leagues with the Minnesota Twins, Kansas City Royals, Chicago White Sox, Orioles and Cleveland Indians.

He was selected to the American League All-Star team in 1973 and was a member of the Orioles' World Series team in 1979.

After his retirement from baseball, Kelly devoted himself full-time to the ministry, traveling throughout the United States and Africa to preach his message.

Kelly spoke at services at West End Baptist Church in February.

Tickets for the dinner are $15 per individual or $25 per couple. Proceeds from the dinner will offset league costs for the 2005 season.
