Athlete of the Year


Dan Robinson

Boonsboro, Sr., hurdles/sprints/jumps

Dominated the 110 hurdles like no other area athlete in any track event. Capped an undefeated season by winning the state title in a Md. 1A and Washington County record 14.50. Also one of the area's top performers in the 300 hurdles, 100 and long jump.

North Hagerstown, So., distance

Md. 2A state champ in the 3,200.

Maurice Barbour

Chambersburg, Sr., sprints/jumps

Mid-Penn Class AAA silver medalist and area leader in the 400 (49.44). Among the area leaders in the 200 and triple jump.

Quenton Beard

Frederick, Jr., hurdles

Won Md. 3A state gold in the 300 hurdles in an area-best 39.27 and finished second in the 110 hurdles.

Tony Belt

Berkeley Springs, Jr., jumps

W.Va. Class AA state champ and top area performer in both the long jump (22-6) and high jump (6-7).

Andy Franklin

Jefferson, Sr., distance

W.Va. Class AAA runner-up in both the 3,200 and 1,600, clocking an area-best 4:27.68 in the latter.

Jordan Hess

McConnellsburg, Sr., throws

Placed fourth in the PIAA Class AA state shot put.

Devin Hewitt

Williamsport, Sr., distance/middle distance

Md. 1A state runner-up in the 3,200. Anchored area-best 3,200 and 1,600 relays at Penn Relays.

Jamie Jablin

Chambersburg, Sr., distance

Area leader in the 3,200 (9:36.8).

Jeremiah Kimberley

James Buchanan, Jr., middle distance

Mid-Penn Class AA silver medalist and area leader in the 800 (1:55.9).

Nick Kipe

Waynesboro, Sr., jumps

PIAA Class AAA state bronze medalist and top area performer in the triple jump (47-3).

Bryan Miller

Hedgesville, Sr., jumps/sprints

Won W.Va. Class AAA state gold in the long jump and silver in the 400 and 800 relays.

David Onomastico

Chambersburg, Sr., sprints

Mid-Penn Class AAA bronze medalist and area leader in the 200 (22.54). Also ran area-leading times in the 100 (11.0) and 400 relay (43.8).

Nevelle Pierre

North Hagerstown, Sr., jumps/sprints

Md. 2A state champ in the high jump and triple jump.

Alan Reynolds

Jefferson, Sr., throws

W.Va. Class AAA state champ in the shot put and top area performer in the discus (150-4).

Rhet Troxell

Williamsport, Sr., middle distance

Won Md. 1A state gold in the 3,200 relay and silver in the 800, 400 and 1,600 relay.

Coach of the Year


Don Boyer, Middletown

Guided the Knights to their fifth Md. 2A team title in the last six years.
