DRY RUN, Pa. - The Franklin County Coroner's Office was investigating the death of a Fannett Township, Pa., woman found beneath a riding mower Tuesday afternoon.

Eva S. Martin, 66, of 21479 Path Valley Road, Dry Run, was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:14 p.m., Deputy Coroner Kenneth L. Peiffer said. He said Martin, whose body was discovered by a niece, probably died between noon and 1 p.m.

Peiffer said the cause of death was undetermined and an autopsy was scheduled for today at Lehigh Valley Medical Center in Allentown, Pa.

"She had driven under a small tree with low branches" and the latch for the riding mower's seat was not working properly, Peiffer said. He said she may have been hit by a branch and was pushed or fell off the back of the machine, which then backed over her.
