Popenoe recognized

HANCOCK - A Hancock Planning Commission member was recognized on Wednesday by the Hancock Town Council.

John Popenoe, who is stepping down as a commission member, received a plaque for his service.

Popenoe said he was appointed to the Planning Commission 10 years ago.




Police chief reports



The Hancock Police Department received 87 calls for service in May, Chief Donald Gossage said at Wednesday night's Town Council meeting.

The department also had five criminal cases, consisting of one burglary, two assaults and two thefts.

Police issued 22 traffic citations and arrested two juveniles and two adults. The department also issued 169 parking citations.
