Bail is $30,000 for man charged in fight

Bail for a Temple Hills, Md., man charged in connection with a Hagerstown fight Monday was set at $30,000 Tuesday, court records state.

Retired Washington County District Judge R. Noel Spence set bond for Robert Brown, 32, of 4515 Akron St., at $30,000 during a bond hearing, records state.

Brown is charged with three counts each of first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment, two counts of malicious destruction of property and one count of possession of a deadly weapon with intent to injure, according to records.

Brown was being held Tuesday evening at the Washington County Detention Center, a spokeswoman said.

Police alleged in a press release that Brown used a knife to cut a 33-year-old Hagerstown man on his left hand during a fight involving four people Monday at 423 S. Potomac St.


The Hagerstown man, who was not identified, was treated at Washington County Hospital and released.

Martinsburg man jailed in drug case

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - The following information was released by the office of Thomas E. Johnston, U.S. attorney for the northern district of West Virginia:

Anthony Curry, 31, of Martinsburg, W.Va., was sentenced Thursday to 360 months in prison followed by six years of supervised release by U.S. District Judge W. Craig Broadwater. Curry pleaded guilty on Dec. 2, 2002, to one count of distribution of crack cocaine on Nov. 8, 2002.

Curry was sentenced as a career offender.
