Fire hydrant flushing set for June 8 to 10

CLEAR SPRING - Weather permitting, fire hydrants in the Town of Clear Spring will be flushed from June 8 to 10, according to Town Clerk Juanita Grimm.

On those days, water customers are advised to watch for cloudy and rusty water conditions that might affect laundry in washing machines.

Budget hearing for public is June 14

CLEAR SPRING - A public hearing on the 2004-05 fiscal year budget for the Town of Clear Spring will be held Monday, June 14, at 6:30 p.m., 30 minutes before the regular monthly Town Council meeting.

Town Hall is at 146 Cumberland St. in Clear Spring.

Emmanuel Church hosting block party

A neighborhood block party will be hosted by Emmanuel United Methodist Church on Saturday, June 12, from noon to 5 p.m.


There will be food, games, face painting, balloons, giveaways, firetrucks and more. Entertainment will include music by praise bands plus Scales and Tails, a bird and reptile show.

The church is at the corner of Summit Avenue and Howard Street.

Shiloh Church hosting festival

A festival will be held Saturday, June 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Shiloh United Methodist Church on Shiloh Church Road off Old Forge Road near the Hagerstown YMCA.

Proceeds will benefit the Shiloh general fund.

Breakfast will be served from 8 to 10 a.m. Lunch will be served from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The menu includes country ham and homemade soups.

Activities include children's games and prizes. Musical entertainment will be provided by Heavenly Harmony at 10 a.m. and TK Productions from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A live auction will be held at 2:30 p.m.
