Woman says man stole her change purse during walk
A woman walking to work near Valley Mall early Sunday was robbed of a change purse, the Washington County Sheriff's Department said in a press release.
Police said the woman was walking along Nursery Road near the railroad tracks near Valley Mall at about 5:45 a.m. when a man grabbed her change purse, knocked her down and ran north on the railroad tracks toward Hagers-town.
The robber is described as a black male, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, with his hair in corn rows and a small scar under his eye, police said. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a gray T-shirt, police said.
Police ask anyone with information on the robbery to call them at 301-791-3020.
