MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Allie Bohrer drove in the winning run with a single in the third and freshman pitcher Lexie Rogers handcuffed John Marshall as Martinsburg advanced to the state tournament with a 4-3 victory on Friday.

After being staked to a four-run lead, Rogers didn't allow a walk for the fourth straight game while striking out three to lift her record to 12-2.

The bottom two hitters in the Bulldogs' order provided all the punch in a three-run second inning. Katie Holton launched an RBI double down the right field line, followed by a two-run single by Lauren Gregory for the 3-0 lead.

Martinsburg (20-8) will play Cabell Midland to open the double-elimination tournament on Thursday in Vienna, W.Va.
