ELDERSBURG, Md - Matt Ridenour hit a solo home run for North Hagerstown's only run as the Hubs (16-6) fell 11-1 to Liberty in the Maryland Class 2A West semifinals Wednesday.

Maret 4, Goretti 2

WASHINGTON - Sean Engle pitched a complete-game two-hitter with eight strikeouts in a losing effort for St. Maria Goretti as the Gaels committed four errors in a playoff loss to Maret.

Chad Bikle and Chris Dorsey each had three hits for Goretti (10-15).


Fort Hill 1, Middletown 0

CUMBERLAND, Md. - Taylor McCarty and Erin Burtner each had one of Middletown's two hits as the Knights (10-9) fell to Fort Hill in the Class 2A West semifinals.

Allegany 4, Boonsboro 2

CUMBERLAND, Md. - Allegany took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning and held on for the win over Boonsboro in the Class 1A West quarterfinals.


Britnee Harbaugh tripled, doubled and drove in a run for Boonsboro (8-14), while Caitlyn Selby had an RBI single.


Wash. Co. Girls Softball

Elementary Division

Debbie's Soft Serve 12, Glocker Group 0: Dani Hudson, Danielle Beaver and Karah Knight combined to pitch a no-hitter while Knight, Ali Forrest and Katie Sprecher each had two hits for Debbie's Soft Serve (10-0).

Maugansville Little League

Maugans Oil 18, Burkholder's 11: Mike Churchey had three hits, while Kevin Miller and Ryan Sword each had two hits for Maugans Oil. Cody Payne and Colby Waugh had two hits each for Burkholder's.

Conococheague Little League

Wolfe's 9, Taylor Trucking 0: Mark Oliver had three hits and Daryl Shirley, Cody Schwartz and Brett Pitkun each had two hits for Wolfe's. Steve Shoemaker had two hits for Taylor Trucking.

Conococheague Minor League

Valley Storage 8, Tony's Pizza 8: Sterling Christy hit a home run for Tony's Pizza. Brandon Toloso struck out 10 for Valley Storage.

Clear Spring Little League

Accent Imaging A's 6, Clear Spring Pharmacy Orioles 2: Zach Leasure had 12 strikeouts, while Garrett Higgins and Leasure each had two hits for the A's. Sam Elwood had two hits for the Orioles.

Federal Little League

Lions 10, Alsatia 0: Greg Lynn and Thomas Allen each had two hits for Lions.

Valley Little League

Dorsey Brothers 5, Total Lube 0: Kyle Toms pitched a one-hitter with six strikeouts for Dorsey, while Tyler McKenzie had two hits.

American Minor League

Antietam Fire Dept. 14, VFW 8: Kesley Lawrence had two hits for Antietam. Jeff Heimberger had two hits for VFW.

Eagles 15, Thompson Concrete 12: Brandon Horning had three hits for Thompson, while Jay Holbrook and Tyler Shubert each had two hits.
