Tech High students to display portfolios

Washington County Technical High School will host two events in one on Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Senior students in the Advanced Computer Applications, Pre-Engineering and Digital Communications classes at Tech High will be displaying their work, and graphic design students from Hagerstown Business College will display their portfolios.

The Tech High Culinary Arts Program will provide refreshments during the event. Dell Computers is sponsoring the event, in conjunction with Hagerstown Business College and Washington County Technical High School.

Washington County Technical High School is at 50 W. Oak Ridge Drive in Hagerstown.

Summer Food Service Program announced

The Food & Nutrition Services Office of Washington County Public Schools has set the 2004 Summer Food Service Program at nine open sites and one enrolled site at area schools.


Free meals will be available to all children regardless of income who participate in the program at the following locations:

Elementary schools: Eastern, Lincolnshire, Winter Street, Hancock and Hickory

Middle schools: Springfield and Western Heights

High school: South Hagerstown

Fountaindale Elementary School will offer an enrolled program. To be eligible, children must meet the income guidelines for reduced-price meals in the National School Lunch Program.
