THURMONT, Md. - Orland Dean hit a three-run homer and Kyle Robinson added a solo shot in North Hagerstown's five-run third inning as the No. 4 Hubs routed Catoctin 11-0 on Wednesday to clinch the MVAL Antietam title outright.

Winning pitcher T.J. Hose pitched a complete-game two-hitter with seven strikeouts.

Robinson finished with a pair of hits and two RBI, while Brent Toms went 3-for-3 with two RBI and Colby Thompson had two hits for North (15-5, 12-2).

Hershey 3, No. 1 Chambersburg 2

HERSHEY, Pa. - Josh Frey hit an RBI double as Chambersburg (16-3) took the lead in the top of the seventh inning, only to lose the game in the bottom of the frame when Matt Kulbacky drove in the tying and winning runs with a two-out single for Hershey.

No. 2 Hedgesville 6, No. 5 Jefferson 2

SHENANDOAH JUNCTION, W.Va. - Aaron Whitford led Hedgesville with two hits and two RBI, while Matt Bartgis drove in a pair of runs and Duncan Williams and Ross Pederson each had two hits for the Eagles (21-7).


David Smith had two hits and Josh Simons had an RBI for Jefferson (18-12).

Shippensburg 6, No. 8 Waynesboro 2

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Derek Whitter had two hits and two RBI, while winning pitcher Riley Cameron hit a two-run double in Shippensburg's five-run fourth inning as the Greyhounds beat Waynesboro in the Mid-Penn Commonwealth.

Corey Livengood had an RBI single in the seventh inning for Waynesboro (10-9, 7-8).

Brunswick 7, Smithsburg 6

BRUNSWICK, Md. - Justin Smith hit a two-out single in the bottom of the eighth inning to drive in the winning run for Brunswick (6-14).

Aaron Main hit a three-run homer for Brunswick (6-14), while Preston Tarleton had three hits and Smith, Main and Blaine Keyser each had two hits.

T.J. Bowser led Smithsburg (9-9) with three hits and Joe Acre and Wayne Rumbaugh each had two hits.


No. 2 Catoctin 12, North 0

THURMONT, Md. - Sam Weaver pitched a two-hitter with six strikeouts and went 2-for-3 with two RBI as Catoctin defeated North Hagerstown in an MVAL Antietam matchup.

Mandi Lambert went 3-for-3 for the Cougars (16-2).

Shippensburg 6, No. 5 Waynesboro 3

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Kristy Young had an RBI double for Waynesboro (9-8, 7-6).

BRUNSWICK, Md. - Mandy Kaler singled in Amber Hemp in the bottom of the seventh inning for Brunswick's winning run. Hillary Remsberg pitched a three-hitter with eight strikeouts for the Railroaders (13-5, 10-4 MVAL Antietam).

Annie Brooks doubled for Smithsburg (11-7, 10-4).

Berkeley Springs 15-5, Frankfort 5-3

FRANKFORT, W.Va. - Maggie Smith pitched two complete games in Berkeley Springs' doubleheader sweep of Frankfort in Region I, Section 4 playoff games.

Jess Vanorsdale had two hits and an RBI in each game for the Indians (18-11).

Frederick 18, Thomas Johnson 2

FREDERICK, Md. - Julie Norris hit a three-run homer and Kelsey Mills pitched a two-hitter as Frederick beat Thomas Johnson in five innings.

Devon Moore drove in a run for the Patriots (2-15).

Tuscarora 2, Goretti 1

Erin Haney walked and eventually scored on a wild pitch in the third inning for the lone run for St. Maria Goretti (4-19).


Hagerstown 9, Greencastle 5

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Zack Swisher went 4-for-5 with two RBI and J.R. Fitzwater hit a two-run homer as the Braves beat the A's (0-2).

Mike Kipe had two hits and two RBI and Dan Cunningham added two hits for Hagerstown (3-0).


Wash. Co. Girls Softball

Nutter's Ice Cream 10, Scrapmania 0: Katie Marshall, Michele Dick and Courtney Kefauver each had two hits for Nutter's. Kefauver and Amanda Cox combined for a no-hitter with nine strikeouts.

Cellular One 5, B.J.'s Custom Creations 2: Bridgette Ringley and Megan Long combined to pitch a two-hitter for Cellular One. Ringley had 10 strikeouts.

Middle School Division

Reliable Home Furnishings 9, William Gower & Sons 8: Erica DiMercurio had three RBI and Emily Steiner struck out five and had the game-winning hit for Reliable. Karly Logsdon had two hits for William Gower & Sons.

Conococheague Minor League

Moose 8, Valley Storage Bins 4: Colton Keplinger hit a three-run home run and Ryan Crabtree pitched a three-hitter with eight strikeouts.

Conococheague Little League

Byer's Market 7, Taylor's Trucking 6: Zachary Lucas had two hits for Byer's. Tevis Palmer, Bryan Smith and Steve Shoemaker each had two hits for Taylor's.

Conococheague Junior League

Bonded Applicator's 13, Homewood 4: Ian Smith struck out five and Nathan Kauffman, Andy Gossert, Cole Roles and Jared Wilson each had two hits for Bonded. John Mason struck out eight for Homewood.

Halfway Little League

Lions 12, Valley Storage Bins 4: Tyler Bikle and Brennen Deener each had three hits, while Kyle Crist, Henry Gigeous and Aaron Green had two hits apiece for Lions. One of Gigeous' hits was a homer.
