Doyle leads Snyder in 57th primary

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Del. John Doyle was holding off a primary challenge from the son of a state senator Tuesday in the Democratic primary for the 57th District House of Delegates seat.

With 20 of 29 precincts reporting, Doyle had collected 566 votes to Rod Snyder's 236.

Snyder, 22, of 221 Elm St., Shenandoah Junction, W.Va., is the son of Sen. Herb Snyder, D-Jefferson.

Doyle, 62, of Shepherdstown, W.Va., will face Republican Robert Murto in the Nov. 2 general election. Murto had no primary competition.

The job pays $15,000 a year.
