Dance to benefit scholarship fund



CLEAR SPRING - A dance to raise funds for the Memorial Scholarship Fund is scheduled for Saturday from 8 to 11 p.m. at the Clear Spring American Legion. The band Spectrum will perform.

Pike Days events set for Friday, Saturday



CLEAR SPRING - National Pike Days will get under way Friday when the wagon train camps at the Clear Spring American Legion grounds.

A turkey dinner will be served from 5 to 8 p.m. at a cost of $6.50 for adults and $3.25 for ages 12 and younger.

On Saturday, breakfast will be served from 6:30 to 9 a.m. at the American Legion. The wagon train departs at 9 a.m.

A 5K run will begin Saturday at 9:15 a.m. at the county park, followed by a parade down Cumberland Street (U.S. 40) at 10 a.m.

Additional activities for all ages continue at New Life Christian Ministries just east of town, beginning at 11 a.m.




Author to discuss time for mom



CLEAR SPRING - "Making Time for Mom" will be the theme of "An Evening With Janeen Solberg" Thursday, May 20, at 7 p.m. at L.P. Snyder Memorial Library.

A Boonsboro resident, Solberg is the author of "Staying Centered: The Art of Full-Time Parenting."
