Washington County has three state-designated enterprise zones

The following areas make up the state-designated enterprise zones in Washington County:

  • Hancock Enterprise Zone - A 1,500-acre zone that surrounds Hancock and stretches from the Pennsylvania border to the Potomac River. It includes commercial and industrial development areas in some parts of town and commercial properties along Main Street.

  • Hagerstown Regional Airport Enterprise Zone - A 700-acre zone that includes the airport, Topflight Airpark, the Washington County Business Airpark and several commercial properties along U.S. 11.

  • Hagerstown/Washington County Enterprise Zone - A 1,400-acre zone, including 1,200 acres in the city and 200 contiguous acres in the county. The Washington County Business Park, CSX Valley Park and the Hagerstown Business Park are in this zone.
