Suns strand 12 in loss to Gnats

April 26, 2004

SAVANNAH, Ga. - Edgardo Baez's second-inning home run gave Savannah an early 2-0 lead, and Hagerstown left 12 men stranded - failing to score after loading the bases in the eighth and ninth innings - as the Suns dropped a 3-2 nailbiter to the Sand Gnats.

Tim Hutting's RBI single scored Travis Ishikawa as Hagerstown (4-10) cut the lead to 2-1 in the fourth.

Kory Casto's RBI double - one of his two doubles on the day - scored Rogearvin Bernadino in the bottom half to give Savannah (8-9) a two-run lead again.

Nate Schierholtz's solo homer in the fifth cut the lead back to one, but that's all the Suns would get.

Hagerstown starter Bryan Millikan (0-1) took the loss, allowing six hits and three earned runs while striking out four in six innings.
