Rod-hot Dobson shines for Suns

SAVANNAH, Ga. - Pat Dobson continued his torrid hitting Saturday, going 3-for-3 and driving in the go-ahead run with a double in the fifth inning as the Hagerstown Suns took the first game of a four-game series with the Savannah SandGnats, 3-2.

Dobson is 11-for-23 over the last six games and is batting .353 for the Suns (4-9).

Savannah (7-9) took a 2-0 lead in the second on RBI doubles by Luis Apodaca and Franklin Jiminez.

The Suns tied it in the fourth when Dobson and Nate Schierholtz singled, Jay Knowlton walked, Jesse Schmidt was hit by a pitch to drive in Dobson and Travis Ishikawa hit an RBI groundout to score Schierholtz.

Suns starter Juan Serrato earned his first victory of the season, allowing four hits and a walk while fanning three in six innings. Jesse Floyd worked a perfect 1 1/3 innings for his first save.
