Here are some of the calls we have received lately:

"On April 22 someone called in about Bush getting heat about 9/11. They ended by saying, 'at least he fought for his country.' My question is, when was that?"

"I look at the front page of Tuesday's Daily Mail. Is this our dress code for Washington County Schools? If it is, I think a re-evaluation of the code is in order. If it's not, then I think someone is really slacking in enforcing the rules."

"Hi, Mail Call, can I put something in like the old times of Mail Call? Too much about the moving of the hospital and politics. It just keeps going on and on. I want to say hello to the dear girls, Amy and Judy, who work at our town office in Williamsport, Md. When you go in, always a pleasant hello and a smile. Always kind and nice."

"I was looking for a T-Ball schedule for the local T-Ball teams in Hagerstown."

"Just read in Tuesday's Mail Call where it said Bush fought for his country. I must have missed this article some time or had a senior citizen moment. Just exactly what did he do?"

- Hagerstown

"I can't understand why the county would fund the Humane Society over the Board of Education, which the children needs it more. It's a shame that the children and the poor people aren't left hardly any money, but the poor people always gets help."

"Now that Senator Kerry has posted his war record on the Internet, we are all waiting for Bush's war record on the Internet."

"I believe that the Humane Society deserves the full support of the County Commissioners and the people of Washington County. Mr. Munson is opposed to everything. The Humane Society deserves the money they are asking for."

"What kind of county commissioners do we have when they talk about having to euthanize the animals sooner than they do now to say money, that is just shallow and calloas."

"I wanted to congratulate the school board for the excellent job they did with their dress code. On Tuesday's front page, I can see that the dress code is just doing wonderful."

"To all skateboarders in the Washington County and Berkeley County area. There is a new skateboard park that opened their doors for the first time last week at the Fairgrounds Park under the stands. Come out so we all can show them that we need to keep this park in our community."
