A Hagerstown man charged in connection with the armed robbery of a 13-year-old at a housing development waived his right to a preliminary hearing in Washington County District Court Wednesday, court records say.

Records say eight charges against Tione K. Blake, 25, of 115 S. Locust St., were forwarded to Washington County Circuit Court.

Blake was charged with armed robbery, robbery, first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, theft less than $500, use of a handgun in commission of a felony/violent crime and handgun on person in connection with a March 14 robbery at Washington Gardens Apartments, records say.

Washington County District Judge Ralph France reduced Blake's bond from $500,000 to $300,000 Wednesday, records say. Blake was being held Thursday evening at the Washington County Detention Center, a detention center spokeswoman said.

Police said that while they were investigating a March 14 shooting death at Washington Gardens Apartments on Security Road in Hagerstown they found that an armed robbery had occurred just before the shooting.

Between 12:15 and 12:30 a.m. on March 14, a man placed a handgun to the head of a 13-year-old boy, detectives said in court records say. The robber stole $6 and a pack of Newport cigarettes from the youth, according to records.

The shooting occurred around 12:45 p.m. Police issued an arrest warrant for Azaniah Blankumsee, whose address and whereabouts were unknown Wednesday.
