Adrienne Munoz homered twice and drove in four runs from the leadoff spot to lead Williamsport to a 9-5 win over North Hagerstown in an MVAL Antietam softball game Monday.

"It felt really good," said Munoz, who led off the game with her first homer. "My dad has always told me to put my hips into it. My dad had me practice for hours. All of my practicing has finally paid off."

Williamsport (7-2, 4-0) took a 5-3 lead with a pair of runs in the top of the fifth inning. With one out, Courtney Hutchinson tripled to left and scored on Sarah Hardin's single to center. Ashlee Von Wald followed with a triple to center to knock in Hardin.

After the Hubs got one run in the bottom of the fifth, the Wildcats answered back with two runs in the top of the sixth to extend their lead to 7-4. Mandi Spickler led off with a single to center and Munoz cleared the bases with an inside-the-park homer.

Williamsport made it 9-4 in the seventh on an RBI single by Spickler and a sacrifice fly by Munoz.

"We continued to show improvement in little fundamental things in all areas of the game," Williamsport coach Tom Dzur said. "We just improve every game and that is what you look for. Our players were concentrating. We knew what we had to do and we did it."

Spickler went 4-for-4, while Von Wald added three hits for the Wildcats.

Tiffany Funk had three hits and Sierra Routzahn hit a solo home run for North (2-8, 0-5).

"I thought that Williamsport played a good game both offensively and defensively," North coach Amanda Fleming said. "They were able to bunch some hits together in a row. We started out all right. We had a couple of hits here and there."
