Glen H. Zuck


HERNDON, Va. - Glen Howard Zuck of Herndon, Va., died Friday, April 9, 2004, at Reston Hospital Center.

He was born April 22, 1913, in Washington County, Md., to the late Leslie Edith Angle and Alvin Geiser Zuck.

He retired in 1983 as an inspector at Dowty Aerospace in Sterling, Va., and previously was employed at Fairchild Aircraft in Hagerstown, Md.

He was a graduate of Greencastle High School, class of 1931.

He was a charter member of Greencastle Church of the Brethren and for the past 60 years was a member of Hagerstown Church of the Brethren.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Frances A. Sponseller Zuck of Herndon, Va.; one daughter, Francia L. Malone of Sterling, Va.; and one granddaughter, Dorinda L. Malone of Sterling, Va. He is also survived by one sister, Mary Katherine Zuck Myers of Greencastle, Pa.

He was preceded in death by one brother, David Zuck.

Burial and graveside services will be held at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown, Md., Saturday, April 17, 2004. Friends may meet at the chapel to proceed to the grave site for an 11 a.m. service to be officiated by the Rev. Jancie Dorsey and the Rev. Edward Poling.

Florence V. Headley


McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Florence V. Potts Headley, 90, of Fulton County Medical Center Extended Care Unit, died Monday, April 12, 2004, at Fulton County Medical Center.

She was the daughter of the late Dean and Minnie Geisler Potts.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don W. Headley.

She was employed at Fulton County Medical Center as an LPN for 17 years.

She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by two sons, F. Gene Headley and Joseph L. Headley, both of McConnellsburg; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother, William F. Potts.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, McConnellsburg. The Rev. Barron Barley will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will be open that day from 2 to 9 p.m.




John S. Schaeffer


SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - John S. Schaeffer, 85, formerly of 916 S. 5th St., Chambersburg, Pa., died Thursday, April 8, 2004, at Shippensburg Health Care Center, where he was a resident.

Born March 3, 1919, in Letterkenny Township, Pa., he was the son of the late John M. and Katie Horst Schaeffer.

He retired from Pet Inc. in 1985.

A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.

He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and the James Hoover Bible Class.

He was a member of George Washington AF&AM Lodge 143 and VFW Post 1599.

He is survived by his wife, Geri Rock Schaeffer, whom he married June 27, 1941; two sons, William of Chambersburg and Thomas of Sacramento, Calif.; one sister, Elsie Overcash; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church, Chambersburg. The Rev. Robert Cook will officiate. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

The family requests the omission of flowers. Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church Building Fund, 750 Norland Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201.

Dorothy L. Bingaman


WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Dorothy Louise Bingaman, 72, of 2881 State Line Road, died Sunday, April 11, 2004, at Chambersburg (Pa.) Hospital.

Born June 12, 1931, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Henry Harrison and Irene Valetta Tosten Fitzgerald.

Her husband, David Henry Bingaman, died in 2000.

She was a homemaker.

She was a Protestant.

She is survived by one daughter, Debra A. Fulmer of State Line, Pa.; two sons, David W. Bingaman of Boonsboro and Darryl E. Bingaman of Sharpsburg; two sisters, Helen Ebersole of Chambersburg and Gertrude Tressler of Greencastle, Pa.; three brothers, Walter Fitzgerald of Waynesboro, and Robert Fitzgerald and Earl Fitzgerald, both of Hagerstown; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Ellen M. Bingaman and Donna J. Bingaman, and one brother, Henry Fitzgerald.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, Williamsport. Maj. Earl Fitzgerald will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will open at 9 a.m.

James W. O'Brien


CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - James W. O'Brien, 88, of 11 N. Second St., died Sunday, April 11, 2004, at Chambersburg Hospital.
