Drug sting results in cocaine charges

An undercover investigation into drug traffic on Hagerstown streets Thursday night led to the arrest of two men, the Hagerstown Police Department said in a written release.

Ernest Kevin Dorsey, 20, of 323 Simpson Ave. in York, Pa., was charged with possession of crack cocaine, conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, distribution of crack cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

Eliezer Rodriguez, 20, of 663 Hayes Ave. in Hagerstown, was charged with conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine, police said.

Friday evening, Dorsey was being held on $55,000 bond and Rodriguez was being held on $5,000 bond, a detention center employee said.

At about 9 p.m. Thursday, police said, a confidential narcotics informant called two men at East Washington Street and North Locust Street. The men directed the informant to the first block of North Cannon Avenue, where they sold the informant $40 worth of crack cocaine, police alleged.

Generators reported stolen, car keyed

The following crimes were reported to the Washington County Sheriff's Department Thursday:

n Two generators, a Yamaha and a Multiquip, valued at $2,000 each, were stolen at 8 a.m. Thursday from a FedEx building under construction at 16730 Halfway Blvd., Sgt. Mark Knight said.

n A 1997 Dodge Intrepid was keyed while it was parked in the 10000 block of Hershey Drive near Williamsport, Knight said.

Police seek man in Adelphia Cable heist

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - The Adelphia Cable building at 110 Terrace St., off W.Va. 9, was robbed Friday, Martinsburg Police said in a press release.

Police said the man went into the office at about 9:30 a.m. and asked about an account. He turned to go back to his car to get more information, but instead locked the office door, went back to the counter and pulled out a knife, police said.

He took money from two cash drawers and put it in his pocket, then ordered the employees to get into a closet before he left, police said.

The robber was described as a black man, 5-feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, weighing about 180 to 200 pounds. He was wearing tan pants, a black shirt with yellow letters, a tan fishing-style hat and sunglasses.

Police ask anyone with information to call them at 304-264-2100.

Two men face marijuana charges

FREDERICK, Md. - Two Frederick men have been charged with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia, Frederick Police said in a press release Thursday.

Kyle Mark Ross, 19, of 511 Sage Hen Way, and Brandon James Penquite, 19, of 505 Partridge Way, were charged, police said.

Police alleged that they responded to a call of a "suspicious situation" near the maintenance and equipment sheds of the VFW golf course at Alternate U.S. 40 and Mt. Phillip Road and found the men with marijuana and pipes.

Morning cooking fire damages Md. home

FREDERICK, Md. - Unattended cooking caused an early-morning kitchen fire at a home at 2909 Park Mills Road Friday, the Maryland State Fire Marshal's office said in a press release.

No one was hurt in the fire, which broke out at about 1:30 a.m., the fire marshal's office said. A fire alarm activated, alerting an occupant.

The fire marshal's office estimated the damage to the single-story single-family ranch-style home to be $7,000. Damage to the contents of the home was estimated at $1,000.
