Assistants luncheon planned

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - The Greencastle-Antrim Chamber of Commerce will host its first Professional Administrative Assistants Day Luncheon April 21 from noon until 1:30 p.m. in the Family Life Center of First United Methodist Church, 45 N. Washington St.

Bosses are invited to bring their administrative staff and office managers to this event, said Dana Given, executive director of the chamber.

"All (bosses) have to do is make reservations for themselves and their staff and the chamber will take care of the rest," she said.

Author and businesswoman Liz Weber of Greencastle will speak on professionalism in the workplace. Weber's book, "Don't Let 'Em Treat You Like a Girl," was published in January.


Tickets to the event are $16 and cover the luncheon being provided by Main Street Deli of Chambersburg, Pa.

Reservations can be made by calling the chamber office at 717-597-4610. The deadline for reservations is April 16.

Lions celebrates 60th anniversary

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - The Greencastle Lions Club will celebrate its 60th anniversary April 22 at the Antrim House Restaurant at 104 E. Baltimore St.

Bill Hadden, known for his work with leader dogs for the blind, will be the guest speaker.

The event begins with a social at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 6:30.

The cost is $15. Make checks payable to Greencastle Lions Club, Box 201, Greencastle, PA 17225.
