Adult-teen workshop

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Planned Parenthood of Central Pennsylvania is hosting a workshop for family life educators, health-care providers, counselors and other professionals who work with adolescents and other high-risk populations. Unequal Partners: Addressing Power and Consent in Adult-Teen Relationships will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, April 8, at Wilson College. The cost of the workshop is $75.

The interactive workshop will prepare participants to help young people evaluate their relationships, and avoid, change, or leave unhealthy ones. Participants will examine recent qualitative and quantitative research, and learn effective strategies for educating groups and individuals about healthy relationships. Participants will receive a copy of the new manual "Unequal Partners: Addressing Power and Consent in Adult-Teen Relationships."

Baby fitness program

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. Jefferson County Parks and Recreation is accepting registration for its Leap N' Learn Fitness Program for babies and toddlers ages 1 to 5. The program will begin Tuesday, April 6.


Small children will be offered the opportunity to exercise and learn the importance of lifelong fitness. Children will work with parachutes, balls and more.

Adoption education

FREDERICK, Md. - Adoption 101, The Journeys and Joys of Adoption, will be offered from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays, April 5, 12, 19 and 26, at Frank Adoption Center, 3 W. Church St.

The four-week adoption education series is open to all families interested in adoption. The series will be taught by members of the Frank Adoption Center staff.

The cost is $100 per couple or $75 for single parents. The class can be used to fulfill education credit requirements for adoptive parents that will be required by the Hague Convention Regulations for International Adoption.
