Two treated after Interstate 70 crash

Two local residents were treated and released from Washington County Hospital Saturday following a car accident on Interstate 70, Maryland State Police Trooper Kyle George said Sunday.

The accident occurred about 4:30 p.m. Saturday on eastbound Interstate 70, east of Interstate 81, George said.

Driver Daniel Blackstock, 21, of O'Toole Drive in Hagerstown, was charged with negligent driving, George said.

Blackstock changed lanes and did not see another car, which he sideswiped, George said. Blackstop's car then went into the median strip and overturned, George said.

Blackstock and his passenger, Cassandra Barkfelt, 18, of Parks Lane in Greencastle, Pa., were taken to the hospital, where they were treated and released, George said.

The car Blackstock hit was driven by Douglas Snider, 44, of Little Orleans, Md., George said. Snider and his passenger, Teresa Snider, 41, were not injured in the accident, George said.


Two reported hurt in Pa. crash Sunday

UPPER STRASBURG, Pa. - One person was flown out by helicopter following a one-vehicle crash Sunday night in Letterkenny Township north of Chambersburg, Pa., Pleasant Hall Deputy Fire Chief Ted Reed said.

Reed said the accident, which is being investigated by Pennsylvania State Police, was called in at 8:38 p.m. in the 14000 block of Upper Strasburg Road. A pickup truck went truck went over an embankment, injuring the two occupants.

Reed said one of the people was flown out by helicopter, but he did not know to which hospital the person was taken. The other was taken by ambulance to Chambersburg Hospital, he said.

State police had no further details Sunday night.
