ADHD, Tourette and OCD presentation


Partners for Success Family Support Center will offer Let's Learn About ... Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Tourette Syndrome and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 6. The program will be held at Partners for Success Family Support Center, 1350 Marshall Street, Hagerstown.

The video "How Difficult Can This Be," by Richard Lavoie, will be presented with discussion following the presentation.

Baby-sitting is offered for free. To register for this service, call 301-766-8221 at least 24 hours in advance.

First-aid class

The Volunteer Fire Co. of Halfway will hold a first-aid class at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 8. The class is approved for day-care providers. The cost is $38.50, which includes a book.

Free alcohol screening


MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - National Alcohol Screening Day will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, April 8, at City Hospital in Meeting Room 2, across from the cafeteria on the first floor.

Learn how alcohol affects health, talk with a health professional, and get educational information for yourself, a friend or family members. Referral to treatment services also will be provided, free of charge.

Mental health program


Partners for Success Family Support Center will offer Let's Learn About ... Emotional/Mental Health Issues, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 27. The program will be held at Partners for Success/Family Support Center, 1350 Marshall Street, Hagerstown.

Sharon Conley, psychologist for Washington County Public Schools, will share information from the National Association of School Psychologists on topics such as anxiety, obsessive compulsion, depression, anger management and self-esteem.

Diabetes control education


Washington County Health Department will offer a five-week diabetes control education program from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays, April 27 through May 25. The program will be held at Elgin Station Community Room, 40 Elgin Station (Elgin Boulevard), Hagerstown. The cost of the program is $10.
