FREDERICK, Md. - Classes at a new Frederick branch of Hagerstown Business College are scheduled to start April 12, business college Executive Director W. Christopher Motz said Tuesday.
Classes previously were scheduled to start this week but were delayed due to construction, he said.
The college is leasing a 10,000-square-foot facility at 5301 Buckeystown Pike, Suite 150, in Frederick, Motz said. It will include a fully equipped medical lab, a two-chair dental laboratory with X-ray capability, a computer lab and three lecture rooms, according to a news release issued by the company that owns the college.
The college is one of about 65 schools owned by Kaplan Inc., Kaplan said. Kaplan is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Washington Post Co.
The branch campus, which will offer certificate programs in medical and dental assisting, is intended to help the college serve students in central Maryland and respond to rising enrollment at the college, Motz said.
