Washington County Public Schools


Kimberly Chaney recently was hired as human resources manager with Washington County Public Schools.

Chaney, a certified public accountant, has worked as a commercial real estate salesperson and business consultant with Chapin & Associates. She also has served as the vice president and chief financial officer of a general contractor and as manager of a large regional accounting firm.

Roxbury Correctional Institution


Lisa Marlowe, nurse manager, and Susan Leonard, a registered nurse, are Roxbury Correctional Institution's employees of the month for March.

Marlowe and Leonard were recognized for their handling of an emergency situation involving an inmate who was found unconscious and unresponsive in Housing Unit No. 3 at RCI.

Abbott's responsibilities include land development, site planning, storm water management, erosion and sediment control, and permitting.

FREDERICK, Md. - Jim Miller is the new director of business development for the Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia region at FMI Services Group.

He previously served as an operations manager in the company's Frederick branch office.

Miller will be responsible for procuring new business in janitorial, landscape and security services.

In addition:

  • Tony Henderson has been promoted to operations manager for janitorial services at FMI Services Group.

    He served as a quality assurance manager prior to his promotion.

    Henderson will be responsible for managing the production janitorial staff in the Maryland and Northern Virginia territories.

  • Sandra Rice is the 2003 employee of the year for FMI Services Group.

    Rice, supervisor of all janitorial operations at AOPA, was given the award based on her team's high quality marks and her personal dedication to her client and employer.



Jack Gaughen Realtor ERA


GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Several agents from the Greencastle office of Jack Gaughen Realtor ERA were honored at the company's annual awards banquet on March 5 at the Harrisburg-Hershey Marriott in Harrisburg, Pa.

Agents who received awards for their 2003 sales performance were Peggy Hays, President's Circle Elite; Sharon Gunder, President's Circle; Karen Starr, Master Sales Platinum; Betty Crumrine, Master's Club Gold; and Diane Henicle and Curt Trumpower, Master Sales Silver.

In addition, Peggy Hays is the agent of the month for February in the Greencastle office.

The award is given based on the number of listings taken, sales made and attendance of Realtor functions and continuing education classes.

Hays, of State Line, Pa., was also recognized as February's leader in service. The leader in service award is based on the agent's use of companies affiliated with Jack Gaughen ERA.

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Jean Rosenberger was recognized by the Jack Gaughen Realtor ERA Waynesboro office for excellent performance in February.

The decision was based on the number of new listings, sales and referrals, attendance at real estate meetings and workshops and customer satisfaction reports.

Rosenberger has been a Realtor for more than 20 years.

In addition, Sally Sussman is celebrating three years at Jack Gaughen Realtor ERA in Waynesboro.

Sussman is a multi-million dollar producing agent who specializes in investment properties. She has been renovating and renting her own properties in Waynesboro for more than 17 years.

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Jim Nichols and his daughter, Kelly Parsons, from Nichols DeHaven & Associates CPAs PLLC in Charles Town, attended West Financial Group's annual awards banquet at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington on Saturday, Feb. 21.

Nichols was recognized as a top new associate and was awarded a trip to a Leader's Conference in Orlando, Fla., in July.

Hair After Style Quarters


Replacement designers Carol Craig, Missy Hewitt and Crystal Krocker of Hair After Style Quarters at South End Shopping Center in Hagerstown attended the Cyber Hair National Conference in San Diego, Calif.

Craig received the Achievement Award for 2003. She was one of only four winners out of 83 eligible.

Speakers included Ned Jerrett, a women's hair replacement specialist, and Amy Gibson, a former soap opera actress.

Homewood Retirement Centers


FREDERICK, Md. - Ernest W. Angell of Frederick, president and chief executive officer of Homewood Retirement Centers, has been selected for the Leadership Maryland Class of 2004.

Angell is one of 52 statewide leaders selected to participate in the eight-month program.
