Sewer, septic fees

The Maryland House of Delegates voted 134-5 on Friday to approve new fees for cleanup of the Chesapeake Bay. Public sewer customers would pay $30 per year and septic users would pay 8 cents per gallon when their tanks are pumped.

Yes: Del. LeRoy E. Myers Jr., R-Allegany/Washington; Del. Christopher B. Shank, R-Washington; Del. Richard Weldon, R-Frederick/Washington

No: Del. Robert A. McKee, R-Washington; Del. John P. Donoghue, D-Washington

Auto registrations

The Maryland House of Delegates voted 72-69 on Friday to increase car registration fees to pay for transportation projects. Under the plan, the cost of car registrations would increase from $81 to $128 every other year. Passenger truck registrations would increase from $108 to $180.
