Shenk-Rashford

Jamie Croix Shenk and Jacob Nathaniel Rashford announce their engagement.

Miss Shenk is the daughter of Jerry and Julie Shenk of Hagerstown (Halfway). She was home-schooled and was an early graduate of International Correspondence School, completed a veterinary assistant program through Harcourt Learning Direct in 2001 and completed requirements for preschool and school age child care at Hagerstown Community College in 2002. She is employed as senior staff with Kids-R-Special Daycare and Learning Center near Williamsport.

Mr. Rashford is the son of Raymond and Debra Rashford of Munnsville, N.Y. He is a 1996 graduate of Stockbridge Valley High School and received an associate's degree in business administration from State University of New York at Morrisville in 1999. He is employed as a marketing coordinator with Bailey, Haskell and LaLonde Insurance Agency in Oneida, N.Y.

A July 17 wedding is planned.




Matter-Caron

Patricia Matter and Lawrence Matter of Hagers-town announce the engagement of their daughter, Melody Matter, to Noel Caron, son of Gerard and Patricia Caron of Canastota, N.Y.

Ms. Matter is a 1995 graduate of South Hagerstown High School, received a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering in 1999 and a master's degree in engineering in 2001 from Pennsylvania State University. She is employed at an engineering consulting firm in Harrisburg, Pa.

Mr. Caron is a 1990 graduate of Canastota High School, received a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from Clarkson University in 1995 and is pursuing a law degree from Widener School of Law. He is a licensed engineer working for an engineering firm in Harrisburg.

An Aug. 7 wedding is planned.




Stubbs-Michael

Alana Crystal Stubbs and Matthew Corwell Michael announce their engagement.

Miss Stubbs is the daughter of Mary Jenkins of Glen Burnie, Md., and Daniel Stubbs of Severn, Md. She is a 1999 graduate of Granite Baptist School and received a bachelor of arts degree in business economics from McDaniel College in 2003. She is employed by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in the Central Maryland district.

Mr. Michael is the son of Dennis and Jo Anne Michael of Clear Spring. He is a 1999 graduate of Clear Spring High School and received a bachelor of arts degree in mathematics education from McDaniel College in 2003. He is employed as a teacher and coach at Century High School in Carroll County, Md.

An Aug. 7 wedding is planned.




Tesla-Mills

Mr. and Mrs. Michael P. Tesla of Hagerstown announce the engagement of their daughter, Brittany Danielle Tesla, to Christopher Paul Mills, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark J. Mills of Hagerstown.

Miss Tesla is a 2001 graduate of North Hagerstown High School and is a junior at Salisbury University, majoring in psychology and social work.

Mr. Mills is a 2000 graduate of South Hagerstown High School. He also is a junior at Salisbury University, majoring in physics and engineering.

A wedding date has not been set.




Fair-Wolfe

Crystal Ann Fair and Michael James Wolfe announce their engagement.

Ms. Fair is the daughter of Teresa A. McDowell and Steven W. Fair, both of Hagers-town. She is a 2002 graduate of North Hagerstown High School. She is employed as a team leader with Burger King in Hagerstown.

Mr. Wolfe is the son of James and Connie Wolfe of Smithsburg. He is a homeschool graduate of 2000. He is employed as a bank teller with M&T Bank in Hagerstown. A summer 2004 wedding is planned.




Hicks-Magaw

Nicole Lynn Hicks and Christopher Scott Magaw announce their engagement.

Ms. Hicks is the daughter of Douglas Hicks of Middletown, Md., and Laurie Hicks of Hagerstown. She is a 2001 graduate of North Hagerstown High School, received an associate of arts degree in business administration from Hagers-town Community College and is attending Shippensburg University in Shippensburg, Pa.

Mr. Magaw is the son of David and Betsy Magaw of Hagerstown. He is a 1998 graduate of North Hagerstown High School. He is self-employed as a flooring installer.




Vickerman-Kelley

Vernella Velonie Verlin Vickerman and James Paul Kelley announce their engagement.

Miss Vickerman is the daughter of Janett Evans and Donald Vickerman of Jamaica, West Indies. She is a graduate of Howard University with a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering and is a graduate student at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Mr. Kelley is the son of Twila and Bruce Kelley of West Virginia. He is a graduate of Hagerstown Community College and plans to finish a teaching degree in Boston.

A July 6 wedding is planned.




Randall-Carpenter

Mr. and Mrs. Terry L. Randall of Williamsport announce the engagement of their daughter, Laura Randall of Charlotte, N.C., to Stephen Carpenter of Charlotte, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard A. Carpenter Jr. of Annapolis.

Ms. Randall is a 1989 graduate of St. James School, St. James, received an undergraduate degree from Wittenburg University in Springfield, Ohio, in 1993, and a master's degree in health administration from University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2003. She is director of the medical assisting program at Kings College, Charlotte.

Mr. Carpenter is a 1989 graduate of Liberty High School, Eldersburg, Md., and received bachelor of science degree in business administration from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C., in 1993. He is working as a health care consultant for VHA Inc.

An Aug. 14 wedding is planned in Hagerstown.




Shingleton-White

Susan Shingleton and Kevin Chatman White of Richmond, Va., announce their engagement.

Ms. Shingleton is the daughter of David Merle Shingleton Sr. of Mechanicsville, Va., formerly of Hagerstown and the late Connie Watkins Shingleton. Mr. White is the son of Chat and Debbie White, both of Mechanicsville.

A June wedding is planned.
