HERSHEY, Pa. - Waynesboro's Brian Lisko won his second-round consolation match over Penn-Trafford's Tom Picarsic 2-1 at the PIAA state championships Friday to stay alive.

Lisko is the only area wrestler competing in the state championships.


St. Joseph's 60, S. Fulton 47

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. - Brock Flowers had 15 points, but it wasn't enough as Southern Fulton fell to St. Joseph's in the first round of the PIAA Class A State Playoffs.

Trailing 24-18 at halftime, the Indians (21-6) fought to cut the deficit to two, but couldn't get any closer as St. Joe's pulled away late in the game.

"We would hit a good shot, but then we'd give it back up on the other end," said Indians coach Kent Hendershot. "We cut into the lead, but we just couldn't get over the hump."


The loss marks the second consecutive year Southern Fulton has been eliminated in the first round.

Grace Academy 62 Christian Fellowship 58

Jack Sharkey scored 11 of his 31 points in the third quarter as Grace Academy pulled away from Christian Fellowship and into the Association of Christian Schools Division II District tournament final.

"(Darren) Sweeney hit two 3-pointers in that quarter and we scored a lot of points, but we played a lot better defense in that quarter," Grace coach John Hill said.

Sharkey also had 14 rebounds for the Knights (12-12). Chris Brunner had 11 points, while Darren Sweeney had nine points, six rebounds and four assists.

Heritage 77, Westmoreland 32

Drew Kidd had 18 points and 12 assists to lead Heritage Academy past Westmoreland Christian in the Association of Christian Schools Division II District Tournament.

Zach Hartman had 15 points, Chuck Harrell had 12 and Josh Hoy added 11 for the Eagles (17-10). Jeremy Dozier grabbed 12 rebounds.

Heritage advances to the championship game against MDCC rival Grace Academy today at 2:30.


Heritage 43, Broadfording 27

Heidi Stamper had 22 rebounds to go with 13 points for Heritage Academy as the Eagles defeated Broadfording in an ACSI District II semifinal.

Heather Stamper added 10 points, 10 rebounds and six steals while Whitney Schlimgen scored 10 points for Heritage (23-6), which will play Pittsburgh East in today's final.

Tina Conner scored 20 points for the Lions.


Potomac State 78, HCC 69

McHENRY, Md. - Dee Brown led Hagerstown Community College with 22 points, but the Hawks fell to top-seeded Potomac State in a Region XX Tournament quarterfinal.

Alicia Romero recorded a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds while Eariel Gholson had 13 points. Gholson and Veronica Johnson also dished out five assists apiece for HCC (16-14).


Limestone 9, Shepherd 4

SALISBURY, N.C. - Limestone College outscored Shepherd College 8-1 over the first two innings.

Shepherd (0-3) took a 1-0 lead when Kelly Carpenter drove in Jenn Canby in the top of the first inning. Limestone responded with six runs in the bottom half.

Lauren Miceli led Limestone (5-10) with two home runs, while winning pitcher Keisha Powell belted a grand slam.
