Imogene M. Mason


WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Imogene M. Henline Mason, 78, of 305 Cottage St., died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004, at Waynesboro Hospital.

Born June 26, 1925, near Sylvan, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John F. Henline and Stella Miller Henline Zimmerman.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Mason, in 1972. They were married June 6, 1946.

She attended school in Little Cove, Pa.

She worked as a waitress at Chestnut Logs Restaurant in Rouzerville, Pa.

She was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church.

She was a member of National AARP and Waynesboro Hospital Auxiliary.

She participated in bowling league activities, traveling to tournaments on the state and national level.

She is survived by one son, Gregory E. Mason of Waynesboro; one stepsister, Helen Z. Rank of Mercersburg, Pa.; three stepbrothers, Robert F. Zimmerman of St. Thomas, Pa., Marvin L. Zimmerman of Mercersburg, and Darrell E. Zimmerman of Williamson, Pa.; two granddaughters; nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waynesboro. The Rev. Richard A. Seaks will officiate.

Private burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery in Waynesboro.

There will be no viewing; the family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home in Waynesboro.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Evangelical Lutheran Church, 43 S. Church St., Waynesboro, PA 17268.




Ronald L. Longerbeam


MIDDLEWAY, W.Va. - Ronald L. "Ronnie" Longerbeam, 45, of Middleway, died Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson, W.Va.

Born Oct. 12, 1958, in Winchester, Va., he was the son of the late Andrew and Dorothy Pifer Longerbeam.

He attended Jefferson High School.

He had been employed by Duncan Brothers Tire Co. in Winchester.

He was of the Methodist faith.

He is survived by one son, Shawn Longerbeam of Middleway; two stepsons, Frank Hardy of Winchester and Eric Hardy of Middleway; and three sisters, Phyllis Cheshire of Martinsburg, Judy Leake of Inwood, W.Va. and Barbara Barrey of Berryville, Va.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home in Charles Town. The Rev. Devin Ward will officiate. Burial will be in Middleway Masonic Cemetery in Middleway.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




Mary C. Shingleton


MECHANICSVILLE, Va. - Visitation for Mary C. "Connie" Watkins Shingleton, of Mechanicsville, Va., and formerly of Hagerstown, who died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2004, will be today from noon to 1 p.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel in Hagerstown.

A graveside service will be today at 1 p.m. at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Hagerstown.




Nellie C. Seward


Nellie Catherine Martin Seward, 90, of 1183 Luther Drive, Hagerstown, and formerly of 1503 Dual Highway, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004, at Ravenwood Lutheran Village.

Born Sept. 26, 1913, in Beaver Creek, she was the daughter of the late Charles C. and Carrie A. Lung Martin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence T. Seward, in 2000.

She was a 1934 graduate of Washington County Hospital School of Nursing.

She had been employed by Washington County Hospital.

She was a member of Washington County Nursing Alumni.

She was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church.

She is survived by one daughter, B. Kay Hensley of Bridgewater, Va.; one son, C. Robert Seward of Hagerstown; two brothers, Earl T. Martin and Charles W. Martin, both of Beaver Creek; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother, J. Guy Martin.

Graveside services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Beaver Creek Cemetery. The Rev. Eleanor S. Doub will officiate.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Bast Funeral Home in Boonsboro.




James E. Livengood


MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - James E. Livengood, 73, of Martinsburg, died Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, at his home.

Born April 14, 1930, in Pinto, Md., he was the son of the late Harry A. and Edith Schrook Livengood.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Day Livengood.

He served in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Vanorsdale Livengood, whom he married in August 1991; five sons, Jim Livengood and Roger Livengood, both of Hedgesville, W.Va., Harry Livengood of Inwood, W.Va., John Livengood of Kearneysville, W.Va., and Rodney Livengood of Martinsburg; four stepdaughters, Nora Hartman of Inwood, Cindy Fairall of Clear Spring, Vivian Monn of Martinsburg, and Linda Johnson of Polk City, Fla.; two stepsons, Rick Gregory and Danny Gregory, both of Martinsburg; one sister, Marian Llewellyn; one brother, Gene Livengood; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 10 stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Russell F. Livengood; two sisters, Pauline Ward and Charlotte Light; and one brother, Robert Livengood.

Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg. Pastor Jim Holt will officiate. Military graveside services will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
