A man arrested following a chase involving Maryland State Police on Saturday was wanted in connection with an armed robbery last summer, according to the Hagerstown Police Department.
Police said Jabazz R. Parker, 23, of 140 Asch Loop, Bronx, N.Y., was charged with armed robbery, robbery, first-degree burglary, first- and second-degree burglary, using a handgun in commission of a felony, theft under $500, carrying concealed/deadly weapon and conspiracy to commit armed robbery, robbery, first-degree burglary and theft under $500 in a 2003 incident.
Police allege Parker was one of two men involved in the gunpoint robbery of Robert D. Lane on June 9, 2003, at 604 Hayes Ave., in Hagerstown.
Parker was charged Saturday by Maryland State Police with hindering and resisting arrest following a car chase that began on Md. 65 near Roxbury Road. Police allege Parker was a passenger in the car, a 2002 Ford Escort, ran from police after it crashed into a fire hydrant at the intersection of Corbett and First streets and gave his brother's name - Michael Dean Ash - to officers.
