Farm Toy Collectors Club offers scholarship

A $1,000 scholarship is being offered by the Tri-State Farm Toy Collectors Club to a student in the Tri-State area.

All school guidance counselors have scholarship information, which includes the qualifications and eligibility requirements.

Information nights present options on saving for college

Three information nights have been scheduled to present parents with options on how to save for college.

Washington County Public Schools and the College Savings Plans of Maryland will offer "Parent Information Nights" on Tuesday at E. Russell Hicks Middle School in Hagerstown, Thursday at Clear Spring Middle School and on Tuesday, Feb. 10, at Smithsburg Middle School. Each presentation will begin at 7 p.m.

Information on the Maryland Prepaid College Trust and on the Maryland College Investment Plan will be presented.

The programs are free and open to everyone.

Clear Spring PTSA plans auction and dinner

The Clear Spring Middle School PTSA will hold the fourth annual auction and dinner on Friday. Proceeds will benefit the school. The doors open for the auction at 5 p.m. to view items being auctioned. The dinner and auction begin at 6 p.m. The public is invited to attend. The food menu includes regular or country ham sandwiches, steamers, hot dogs, potato soup, chips, beverages and home-baked desserts. The menu is offered a la carte and prices vary.
