Glen O. Souders


BOONSBORO - Glen Oscar Souders, 79, of 18301 Manor Church Road, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Nov. 29, 1924, in Frederick County, Md., he was the son of the late Elmer Souders and Leona Smith Lewis.

He retired after 38 years of employment with the Western Maryland Railway in Hagerstown.

He was a member of Grace Brethren Church in Hagerstown.

He was a member of District 12 Ruritan Club.

He is survived by his wife, Thelma I. Berger Souders; one daughter, Pamela S. Breichner of Hagerstown; four sons, Glen D. Souders, Donald L. Souders, Eddie G. Souders and Brian L. Souders, all of Hagerstown; one brother, Raymond T. Souders of Pleasant Walk, Md.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.

He was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Dean Pryor will officiate. Burial will be in Manor Cemetery in Tilghmanton, Md.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Gerald B. Lewis


FOLSOM, Pa. - Gerald B. Lewis, 75, of 606 Hazel Ave., formerly of Hagerstown, who died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2004, at Taylor Hospital in Ridley Park, Pa., is also survived by one brother, Homer H. Lewis Jr. of Hagerstown.




Lois J. Garrish


HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. - Lois J. Garrish, 64, of Hendersonville, died Monday, Jan. 26, 2004, in Hendersonville.

She was born Oct. 16, 1939, in Williamsport.

She is survived by her husband, Bruce "Sonny" Garrish; four children, Terasina D. Brown, Tammy S. McCloud, Jeff England and Marion England III; four sisters; four brothers; and six grandchildren.

Services will be Thursday, Jan. 29, at 2 p.m. at Cornerstone Church. Pastors Maury Davis and Sandy Sterban will officiate. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Honorary pallbearers will be Pastor Earl E. and Pastor Alice Jane Blythe and Bob and Hazel Winesett.

Visitation with the family was from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, and will be one hour prior to the service today at the church.

Arrangements are by Forest Lane Funeral Home, Goodlettsville, Tenn.




Glenn L. Morrison


Glenn L. Morrison, 92, of 1158 Luther Drive, Hagerstown, who died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2004, was born Dec. 17, 1911, in Burlingame, Kan., and is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth B. Cook of Carrollton, Texas.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, Feb. 14, at 11:30 a.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home in Hagerstown. The Rev. Blaine Feightner will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery in Ardmore, Pa.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home 30 minutes prior to the service.




Raymond Powell


MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Raymond "Buck" Powell, 73, of Martinsburg, died Monday, Jan. 26, 2004, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.

Born Nov. 16, 1930, in Paw Paw, W.Va., he was the son of the late Pearl and Eston Brumback and Wilbert Powell.

He retired from Martinsburg High School as a custodian.

He was a member of the Supreme Council of the House of Jacob Inc. in Martinsburg. He was a former member of the Paw Paw Fire and Rescue Unit.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Powell; two sisters, Alice Murchison of Philadelphia and Darlene J. Spencer of Paw Paw; two brothers, Leonard Powell of Harrisburg, Pa., and Kenneth Brumback of Paw Paw; Kenneth Fields of Harrisburg, who was raised as a brother; nieces; nephews; and friends.

Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Supreme Council of the House of Jacob in Paw Paw. Burial will be in Camp Hill Cemetery in Paw Paw.

The family will receive friends at Kimble Funeral Home in Paw Paw Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m.




Helen V. Lambert


BRUNSWICK, Md. - Helen Virginia Lambert, 79, formerly of 1100 Peach Orchard Lane, died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004, at Washington County Hospital.

Born June 7, 1924, in Lucketts, Va., she was the daughter of the late Wade and Maude Russell Umbaugh.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin L. Lambert, in 2002.

She was a member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church in Taylorstown, Va.

She is survived by one daughter, Nancy A. Lambert of Boonsboro; one son, LeRoy Lambert of Middletown, Md.; three sisters, Kathleen Potts of Taylorstown and Alma Miller and Joan Simpson, both of Purcellville, Va.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home in Middletown. Burial will be in St. Paul's Episcopal Church Cemetery, Point of Rocks, Md.

The family will receive friends Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




Jane E. Buhrman


SABILLASVILLE, Md. - Jane E. Buhrman, 81, of Raven Rock Road, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004, at Fahrney-Keedy Home in Boonsboro.

Born May 24, 1922, in Lantz, Md., she was the daughter of the late Jennings D. and Margaret E. Bowman Pryor.
