Nellie B. Malashuk


Nellie Belle Malashuk, 90, of 55 E. Washington St. in Hagerstown, who died Friday, Jan. 23, 2004, is survived by granddaughter, Lisa Avey of Haddon Township, N.J.




Louise R. Fuller


BOONSBORO - Louise R. Fuller, 84, of 8507 Mapleville Road, Boonsboro, Md., but formerly of the Village at Robinwood and lived in Middleburg, Md., for more than 50 years, passed away Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004.

Born in Martinsburg, W.Va., on Saturday, Oct. 4, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Horace L. and Ella Mae Anderson Renner.

She was the wife of J. Nelson Fuller. They were married for 63 years.

Along with her husband, she opened up her home as a foster parent, so that children may have a better life and a family to belong to. She also was a member of New Hope Church in State Line, Pa.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughter, Donna Jean, wife of Bob Adams of Valdosta, Ga.; daughter, Janet, wife of Don Myers of Hagerstown; daughter, Sandra Fuller of St. Paul, Minn.; son, John Nelson Fuller III of Burbank, Calif.; sister, Virginia Kline of Hagerstown; sister, Frances Norris of Boonsboro; sister, Anna Kunz of Boonsboro; sister, Lorraine Walker of Hagerstown; and brother, Howard "H.R." Renner of Keedysville, Md. She also is survived by dozens of foster children, including Tina Starr Short of Chambersburg, Pa., Connie Binkley Rohrer of Hagerstown, Connie Morgan Greenwalt of Waynesboro, Pa., and Judy Starr of Plattsburgh, N.Y. She also is survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mae Staley and Elsie Stottlemeyer.

Services will be held at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. N., Hagerstown, on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Michael Wentz officiating.

Interment will be at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Monday from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home.




Carla D. Crosen


BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Carla Dawn Crosen, 67, of Berkeley Springs, died Friday, Jan. 23, 2004, at Winchester (Va.) Medical Center.

Born April 18, 1936, in Paw Paw, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Carl Linwood and Grace Lee Divelbiss Van Horn.

She was a 1954 graduate of Paw Paw High School.

She had worked as a telephone operator for C&P Telephone in Winchester.

She was a Protestant.

She is survived by her husband, Albertus "Bert" Crosen; three sisters, Linda Parker of Winchester, Sherry Piper of Yuba City, Calif., and Kathie Bernhard of Berkeley Springs; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, Berkeley Springs. Pastor Bob Donadieu will officiate. Burial will be in Camp Hill Cemetery, Paw Paw.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Phyllis E. Myers


MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Phyllis E. Myers, 68, of Martinsburg, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2004, at her home.

Born June 28, 1935, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Alston P. and Virgie Virginia Leonard Myers.

She retired from Royce Hosiery.

She attended Bethel Assembly of God.

She is survived by one sister, Carolyn Oliver of Martinsburg; one brother, A. Eugene Myers of Martinsburg; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Graveside services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Rosedale Cemetery. The Rev. William C. Crowe will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.

Larry T. Dirting


MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Larry Townsend Dirting, 59, of Martinsburg, died Friday, Jan. 23, 2004, at City Hospital.

Born May 12, 1944, in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Louis Lemuel and Claudia Townsend Dirting.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty L. Stangle Dirting.

He was a member of the U.S. Army National Guard 157th Military Police Unit.

He is survived by three sons, Shane L. Dirting and Mark W. Dirting, both of Martinsburg, and Daren S. Dirting of Brunswick, Ga.; one brother, Lemuel W. Dirting of Cross Junction, Va.; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Christopher L. Dirting; and one sister, Gwendolyn K. Reed.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. Pastor William D. Moore will officiate. Military graveside services by the Combined Martinsburg Honor Guard will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




Christopher S. Raney


MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Christopher Scott Raney, 27, of Martinsburg, died Friday, Jan. 23, 2004, as the result of an automobile accident.

Born March 31, 1976, in Martinsburg, he was the son of Eric M. and Mary Ellen Rice Raney of Beckley, W.Va.
