D. Lambert Divelbiss


WAYNESBORO, Pa. - D. Lambert Divelbiss, 93, of 10650 Buchanan Trail East, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2004, at Washington County Hospital, from complications after a stroke on Jan. 17.

Born Jan. 1, 1911, in Mercersburg, Pa., he was the son of the late David W. and Jennie B. Pensinger Divelbiss.

He was a 1930 graduate of Mercersburg High School.

He was employed by Landis Machine Co. in Waynesboro as an assembler and an inspector in the Dye Head Department for 41 years, retiring in 1977.

He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Waynesboro.

He was a member of Antietam Humane Society of Waynesboro; BPO Elks Lodge 731 of Waynesboro; and National AARP.

He is survived by his wife, Helen V. Arnold Divelbiss, whom he married June 22, 1939; and one daughter, Dr. Nancy D. Broz of Haddonfield, N.J.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Jean M. Divelbiss; and one son, Jeffrey A. Divelbiss.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home in Waynesboro. The Rev. Lynn D. Trutt will officiate. Burial will be in Burns Hill Cemetery in Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends Friday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

Louise V. Muritz


Louise Virginia Muritz, 86, formerly of 12010 Mayfair Ave., Hagerstown, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2004, at Beverly Health Care.

Born April 15, 1917, near Clear Spring, she was the daughter of the late C. Lloyd and Gertrude Trumpower Hull.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Muritz, in 2002.

She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.

She is survived by two sons, Robert E. Muritz and David C. Muritz, both of Hagerstown; one brother, Prather E. Hull Sr. of Greencastle, Pa.; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold E. Hull and William H. Hull.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown. The Rev. Raymond H. Shriver will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Christ Lutheran Church, 216 N. Cleveland Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21740.




Christy L. Hines


Christy Lynn "Chris" Hines, 45, of 508 S. Cannon Ave., Hagerstown, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2004, at Washington County Hospital.

Born April 10, 1958, in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Bill and Janet Smith Sours.

She was employed by AC&T on Frederick Street in Hagerstown.

She attended Bethel Assembly of God.

She is survived by her husband, John W. Hines; one son, John Moser Jr. of Hagerstown; three sisters, Beth Morris, Lori Smith, and Virginia Bowen, all of Hagerstown; and one granddaughter.

Services will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown. The Rev. Curt Snyder will officiate. Burial will be in Manor Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




Annette L. Durr


SHARPSBURG - Annette Lynn Durr, 33, of 16227 Woburn Road, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004, at the Village of Laurel Run in Fayetteville, Pa.

Born Nov. 23, 1970, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of Terry Lynn McNabb of Hancock and Joyce Weaver of Fayetteville.

She was employed by Citicorp Credit Services Inc.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, John Durr; one daughter, Gabriella Durr of Sharpsburg; and one brother, Terry McNabb II.

Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown. Pastor Ronald K. Faith will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Betty L. Dunkle


Betty Lorraine Dunkle, 76, of Hagerstown, died Monday, Jan. 19, 2004, at her home.

Born July 14, 1927, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late William Richard and Delsie Mae Kirby Nally.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel L. Dunkle, in 1995.

She was an inspector at the Federal Silk Mill in Williamsport for 20 years.

She was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Hagerstown.

She was a member of the Marine Corps Club; Fraternal Order of Eagles Post 694 Auxiliary; Redman Auxiliary Williamsport Council 59; and a past member of VFW 1936 Auxiliary.

She is survived by one son, Robert E. Kreiser of Hummelstown, Pa.; two sisters, Vernedis D. Dodson and Frances Grimes, both of Hagerstown; seven grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Martha M. Copland; two sisters, Madeline Clark and Rose Marie Jennings; three grandsons; and one great-grandson.
