Golden Apple awards given to singers, poster makers, teachers

The Washington County Board of Education on Tuesday recognized members of the Clear Spring Middle School chorus as World Class Students and their teacher, Ruth Stenger-Japzon, as a World Class Educator.

The board also recognized Western Heights Middle School Character Counts poster contest winners as World Class students.

All received Golden Apple awards.

Members of the chorus are Korey Atherton, Laura Canfield, Jessey Flowers, Alisha French, Samuel Myers, Zachary Nelson, Jessica Phillips, Zachery Repp, Jasmine Simms, Morgan Smith and Malea Snyder.

Poster contest winners were: Fifth-grader Andrew Hall; sixth-grader Gabrielle Shrader; seventh-grader Krismeir Quick; and eighth-graders April Ensor, Natasha King and Christen Logsdon.
