FREDERICK, Md. - One man was charged with attempted murder in connection with a Sunday shooting at a recreational vehicle area in a north-end housing complex in Frederick, police said.

Larry Vincent Pearson, 19, of 1727 Northridge Lane, Frederick, was charged with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, use of a concealed weapon, transporting a handgun, discharging a firearm within city limits and second-degree assault, police said.

Pearson was being held without bond Monday evening at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center, Frederick Sgt. Clark Pennington said. He said a second man who was questioned in connection with the incident was not charged.

Pennington said Justin D. Freland, 20, of the 1800 block of Beaver Creek Lane, underwent emergency surgery at Frederick Memorial Hospital late Sunday after he was shot multiple times, including at least once in the chest, early Sunday evening.
